but I don't give a shit. Why don't you post who has been banned from tournaments on the main page. I guarantee that would reduce the bullshit that occurs significantly. When people are actually given a sample of the consequences to their bullshit they'll most likely think twice before pulling that same shit.

I've already been pushing for this as well, the public deserve to know who's been banned and their known tanks. It needs to be done. Just as well as the cup needs to be stripped and the results bumped up so lol can get his rightfully earned bronze. Leaving the cheaters with their cups is still letting them win.

I disagree. I felt communication between players was huge back then, despite there being obviously more players. I mean, there was Pinky's website and board that brought a lot of people together and that would usually branch people off to individual team message boards (like the -Snakes- and the STRIKES,) so there were a lot of different venues to communicate. Not to mention everyone seemed to have some kind of simple website (hosted by geocities!) or screen name on AIM that they would use.
Funny enough, just from what I've read here, the arguments haven't changed much over the last 10+ years. :hammertime:

Back then people would check the message boards every once in awhile. Nowadays people are talking in real time using teamspeak.

Back then a significant amount of players were not in contact with each other. Nowadays almost all players are part of this community.

Tournament anonymity definitely has it's advantages in such a small community.. I rarely know who is behind a tank unless they are reusing the tank a few weeks later so I just try to kill everyone :)

Personally over the past couple months I have observed a few questionable incidents regarding what's his name... for example my bronze cup where an orange corp I was stalking ranks and immediately dies solo by the boat he'd been securing top pph on. This ban has been a long time coming and nobody should be surprised looking at his history. Honourable tournaments are one of the most prestigious and enjoyable aspects of the game and I'll respect SW's judgement on this one.
