The game is going stale, and the bread isn't getting any fresher. A big change is required in the near future. What exactly that is, who knows - only SW. Whatever it is, it has to give incentive to new players and encourage short term playing.
A reset of any kind accomplishes this, but of course that' only a temporary fix.

two maps is a bad idea imo
although the yearly idea could work in the long term sense. if we are just trying to please the current player base for this time being, then idk whats the point?
not sure what tankpits goal is but im going off of the utanks experience and a lot of chats with andy.

Obviously I'm a little hasty due to how many rustys I see already. But I think zubby is right, maybe we should just stick with one map, the amount of people over the last two night has been like the old desert time which is nice.
Weekly, monthly, and yearly top 25-100 list would be pretty cool.
That way it doesn't interfere with the activity of the one map.

Hi.
Sylar is on the right track IMO. Without busting up the entire foundation of the game, you need session or time bound play within the overall gameplay to influence player behaviors. Short term in game or live leaderboards while retaining an all time leaderboard is a great idea with minimal effort, little to no negative effect on activity, and high upside for inciting more motivation. Win-win. Find a way to recognize top finishers per month and you seal the deal.
TL;DR: Put one month long tournament cycles into the main map and see what happens.

thing is you played 100 hours in the practice map. a reset? you fuckin kidding me rev? do you even have 50 in the main map? what ignites activity is people just being in the map. you dont have a say on this matter. enjoy practicing, noob.

harsh but true. a reset would be the most retarded thing ever. i wouldnt play again. it stopped knock from returning just imagine the amount of people that would quit this time around.
a 2nd map would bring the same activity a reset would without people having to lose stats. and like i said in another thread, if activity drops the two maps could be merged into one to prevent a utanks epidemic

two maps is not a bad idea. i was against it before but it would be nice for a burst of activity. i mean look at the main map the top 25 is almost filled with rusties. i think a 2nd map should be put in early next year

the game is active most of the time, even in the middle of the night there's always some reds/blues/purples mobbing the field... i don't see where you guys are getting these crazy notions that the game is dead and inactive and needs a second map?
it only goes dead when a shitty retarded map comes up in the rotation. don't blame the stats, blame the map rotation.

how many players did bf have and how much advertising did it get headlining a children's gaming website in an era when turn based games were up and coming and popular?

the activity in the game is probably holding more activity back due to it being mostly mobs. I can imagine some honest newbs who accept the 'if you dont wanna take a raid dont enter the map' mentality. atleast with a second map they could play both and pick the best times to play either depending on how they want to play

like 7 (
)then eventually everyone moved to desert until the game died.
just saying a second map might be good at first, but then it might end up like utanks (I know). not the best comparison but its still something to consider.

What about a leaderboard for highest pph for each map? Like an all-time record.

That would be the end of taking raids and having the chance to rank up one's tank as we know it

If you adopted my idea of giving those taking raids more points then it would be way more different.
