It's hard for me to know if these even are my truest reasons without really sitting down and picking my brain, but off the surface of my consciousness:

(Short Term Reason) Life necessitating all my attention
(Medium Term Reason) Game isn't yet/currently where I would ideally like it to be in terms of activity & some other minor aspects (but I hope to help it get there!)
(Long Term Reason) It is almost impossible to play non-secret without being hated or criticized by others (though this problem probably vanishes completely if activity blossoms)

Life calls. Full-time job, part-time school, and just, in general, having trouble justifying putting down hundreds of hours into this game, when I could have put those 100 hours in my shining sword into getting a better job, meeting the right girl, learning a new foreign language, picking up a new sport, etc.

Lack of (true) new players. Most players are returning veterans from the bonus.com days, so the concept of a captain being more skilled than a lieutenant or a colonel being more skilled than a major, etc all fall out of the window. Rank is no longer indication of skill level anymore. I miss the days of actually trying to achieve a single star by getting a group of newbie captains together and trying to deactivate a newbie lieutenant. Nowadays, you have a less experienced player making his double star / colonel for the first time and he is taken down by a raid of 4-5 captains who have 500+ hours under their belts!

Tournaments used to be a burning motivation for me to play because I've always wanted to earn a cup, but after 30+ tries of not cupping, and as ALLSTAR41 said, seeing the same players cup again and again, I am starting to believe that I've plateau'ed in my abilities / will not make further improvements. Improving, getting better, getting to the next level, seeing achievements/milestones, etc are the most important motivations that I have in any hobby / sport / pass time, and I just don't see that anymore in TankPit. It's not really frustration / being pissed off though; it's more of boredom and lack of motivation, from lack of results from hard work and persistent efforts

Regardless, I am deeply appreciative and heart-warmed by all the support, tutoring, guidance, and advice, that I have received from very talented players.

I have about a month left before summer ends and school starts again. 60+ hour full-time job with 20+ hours of homework from part-time masters, per week, will essentially erase me from TankPit. Going to make the best of the next 3-4 weeks, and then I will disappear from this game for a while

good luck in life sigma. but the game isnt that serious. the quicker you here the faster you go. i thought you were a decent player and there is always room for improvement in this game, too bad you dont see that. and you would of eventually cupped, thats too bad too, lad.

we all know the real problem is this game isnt being exposed. this game needs to be put up on another site similar to bonus. this conversations come up many many times already. SW likes having control of the game too much to want to give up some of it's rights to a bigger gaming company though, FACT.

I have 5,000 hours in BF and TP combined and I still can improve, Sigma. Trust me, plateauing is a myth.

Having said that, I wish you the best. Real life should take precedence over any game.

I'd be completely fine with every single player who shares your mindset on how this game should be played never entering te map again. In a perfect world you're right, the game should e played to the highest honour and integrity and everyone should be lining up to take raids and say thank you free they die. But why won't you realize you don't hold the only opinion in how this game should be played. Why can't you understand that not everyone wants to spend their time taking on massive mobs that are impossible to survive and spend majority of their time refilling their useless equipment? Why can't you come to the conclusion that this is a video game to be spent on however one sees fit (within the rules of the game)

You didn't get to experience te heart of the game, tankpit never had a heart. There has not been a heart to mourn the loss of a heart as of yet. Stop reminding us how this game and it's players have let you down and changed your outlook on life. I seriously hope every single player stops accepting that they have to take on redic mobs for others pleasure. I hope everyone decides to do what they want and anyone who disagrees has no interest in making it public as they too are doing whatever they want.

I didn't get to experience a heart of tankpit? 1000 plus hours over the course of both installments i've seen more of this game than you ever will Jordan, there was times in both installments where most of the players gave a shit and played without worry of death. The game is at its best when its people who are willing to put in that effort and most of those people have left because they put so much into the game and got nothing in return. I'm not asking people to take on mobs or whatever. Id much rather see the map converge on everyone and even color battles, which is why I played the weaker colors over the past year rather than continuing on RECON on a color that continually has numbers.

i think what jordan is saying is that if you and all the others that dont play because others play like pricks, just played the way they like rather than not play at all and just sit around and complain......the game would be a lot more fun for everyone. yes things started out with a bang, when the game started, everyone was on the same page/level. now its been 2 years, people have chosen their sides and allegiances and all sides are never going to agree 100% on everything. If you would just let go of all the hate and anger of all the people who play a way you dont like and just played the game with the people you enjoy playing with, then you and everyone else will have a much better experience. you can sit here and blame the forum, or the community or whatever you like, but the fact is, not playing, and letting all the pricks run a muck around the game freely, you have let them win.

weekend is entitled to his opinion. the thing is some players play to deliberately piss people off. they deserve to be called out. players who constantly fight and get low deserve to say whatever they want to the other players, after all it's ballsy and a respectable way to play.

i agree with jordan that tankpit never had a heart. tp1 was gaining a lot of momentum then it was destroyed. and tp2 was alive for maybe a few weeks last summer, now its almost always a dead game.

tankpit needs to be put on a site similar to bonus for a constant flow of new players; sustainability for multiple maps.. for the 192nd time.

total numbers of players will increase with a new map however the ratio between the maps may be distant. In battlefield new players could always a chose a safe and simple map to learn the game. practice is useless in this regard. If there was a second map than atleast new players could pick and chose which one to play at what times to get the most enjoyment. What my previous posts were supposed to mean, is that while everyone is entitled to an opinion I find it in poor taste to constantly talk shit to newbs/casuals who dont seem to be firing back at you. If you cant enjoy the game for your own reasons and instead rely on getting your enjoyment depending on how others play you need to readjust your approach. You wont last long.

Kids who quit low are lame, but thats going to happen. kids who run from raids dont want to die, and I dont blame them. kids who tags raids and than run should be chased harder, as the kill is now that much sweeter. the beasts should still be shouted out. People who only pph can either be annoyed or ignored. Id suggest a combination of the both, as the game needs people who pph to start activity when theres none.

I just think youre getting too emotional. Its really not a big deal, people dont agree with the ethics you preach in the essentially 4th installment of the game. Almost everyone here had what you want at some point in time, respect and great teams etc etc. some of us have been playing this game for half a decade before you even returned, dont be so surprised when we alter our playstyle to keep the interest. The game doesnt seem to generalize activity.

I don't play because the community can sometimes force playing styles. There are things that are 'frowned' upon. I used to prefer back in the day when people could play how they wanted to without getting put on blast. If I want to hold at serg and pp that should not be anyone else's business etc.

as somebody who was put on blast back in the day with death threats and shit over a game back in battlefield for simply wanting to be general and not getting killed by speedhackers, this never happened. in my experience people in these games were even more hostile over how people played back then than they are now. but maybe that's just because back then there were a lot more people to allow hostility
