Why don't you play?

Seems as though we have many active people playing tournaments and posting on BFunity, but not as many actually playing the game. So I want to know why. Think about the deep down, real reason you are not entering the map.

Your only aloud to post max three reasons in a "short from, to the point" type of post. Don't respond to other peoples reasons, just list your own for now.

i accomplished everything i wanted to in bf.
lack of drive.
lack of desire.
lack of time.
lack of other players/variety.
lack of direction.
lack of a gaming company behind it.
lack of an unbiased community.
lack of a dtt chat.
lack of more then one map.
lack of promotion points.
lack of more then one type of leaderboard.
lack of any real gameplay change.
lack of new awards.
lack of newbies in game.
lack of players that play for fun rather the reps.

the game lacks the fundamentals to hold my attention
Ive done everything i could do in all 3 variations of this genre
the active playerbase and community as a whole would rather see everyone play a certain way or not play at all.
The game developer refuses to turn the game into something more than what it was 15 years ago.

thats a pretty ridiculous demand considering theres far more than three potential reasons why someone doesnt play. Whats your point with this thread? How about you post your reasons why you dont play.

- I believe we may have many reasons we can think of, but they can be combined into a bigger reason. Why 3 though? because this should cover the main things and no one will want to read everyone's essay.
- I am stirring conversation and getting the communities opinion about something that has become a bigger problem recently

the biggest problem is the game hasnt changed. what game has remained the exact same for 15 years and is still successful (in terms of the original playerbase) Maybe if this game at one point had tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of players, wed have dwindled down to a few hundred by now. But at this point, our hundreds of players has dwindled down to less than dozens of players over 15 years. Theres nothing drawing in new players, nothing holding current players and nothing bringing back old players,

The game in its current state lacks variety and while sunwolf is having discussions of potential up coming changes none of them seem promising and even if something were to be drawn up and agreed upon its not known how long it would actually take to implement. The game is great for people who enjoy it and continue to enjoy it due to nostalgia, however with thousands of other games available for free and tens of thousands of games available for minimal costs tankpit doesnt quite cut it anymore. Theres nothing else that needs to be discussed, accept maybe this absolutely terrible community and this destructive mindset and political view over how the game can and should be played.

- Its the same old thing ive done for 3000-4000 hours.

- Theres nothing new or different to keep me entertained. and raids seem to be obsolete now. Its about 95% pphing or getting pp when you go in the map now, and it gets old fast. All teams are now broken up or dead.

- The player base has drastically declined and all of my old friends that made this game fun are now gone. Its mostly only newer/noobie players that play the game everyday so its not that competitive any more.

Tankpit no longer excites me:( If I win an award this round ill come back and shiny tho. Maybe if the game ever blows up somehow it will become more exciting and fun for all of us older players. :boohoo:

Well first and foremost, the lack of a decent computer/connection was my biggest flaw. But with the connection side fixed, and the laptop getting fixed, that shouldn't be an excuse anymore.

Now its an issue of maintaining interest. What always got my in BF and UT, was being able to watch my PP climb. I could see the result of all the hours of work. I'd set goals for myself, and it kept me going. Lack of visible PP is pretty much the deal breaker for me.

If that were to come back, id have a lot more drive to play, especially with my new tank names :smart:

I like it and play it because I barely got a chance to play BF

However, the numbers are a bit lacking. I'd play more consistently if there were more people to play with but either way I just get an itch to get on and shoot some players

Ever since it changed to HTML 5 is has become gay. Chunky game play, blurry screen, lagging like mad.

nothing to achieve in the game. Hit space bar. click to get fuel, click get EQ and repeat. now do that for 3000+ hours and tell me if that makes you want to do this task.

unless you play 10+ hours a day you cant get anywhere but getting passed. (main reason I quit)

same 4 players playing over and over just 1v1ing and if you join in those 2 tag team you then you go and fill and they go back to 1v1ing. BORING!

1. got back into RuneScape.

2. filling takes god awful forever, even with extra radars most maps have terrible equipment spawns. taking longer to fill your duals than it does to fire them off is atrocious.

3. html 5 client is broken and unplayable on internet explorer apparently. half my hotkeys don't work and I did try re-doing them. maps blurry n shit it's just bad overall.

4. I've solidified my achievements in this game's history. got my third rusty in these games and am in a strong position for a long time to come with a massive gap, so I am no longer in any hurry and can casually play. reputation is consistently maximum positive feedback.

5. activity in the main map has dwindled severely, I'm not one of them pph fags I want to take raids and kill people. dumb pph tanks don't even pass my pph somehow.

6. community mentality is all talk and no action. mostly retardation.

7. I no longer see any future in this game's growth for new players. same old players, same dumb grudges for no reason that ruin the game for everyone around them.

8. most of my favorite players and allies hardly play anymore.

9. ???

10. profit.

I still play occasionally but reasons I don't play as much:

1. So many people have left that it puts a damper on motivation

2. I'm wayyyy too damn busy. I haven't had enough time to get enough sleep or eat healthy, yet alone play video games.

I think I have accomplished quite a bit in Tankpit but I still do have a few goals left on the list so you should still see me playing occasionally.

Work and personal life. There is no other reason I do not play. If i had more time I would play. However, when I do get time I log in tp for an hour (MAX) and fall back to LOL or Dota2.

So, maybe player base ? Wish we had more players of each color and not one sided. Things will get better. I believe in the developer and our community .

tournaments are a side show. more tournaments will not result in a more active main map.
