Lolz...I could have run at the end (or quit like everyone else does :hmmm: ), but I thought I was hidden well enough. My question is did Shadow quit out after killing me? or was he able to survive?

Disconnection in what sense? Game quits? Freezes? Hangs? Internet disconnects? I seem to remember trying to find the issue on the server logs, but not coming up with the answer.

Your welcome for taking the honourable death. I highly doubt most would have taken it in the last 10 seconds knowing they would lose the cup.

What was everyone else fills like? I think they were bad across the board - but mine was like 16 or 17 minutes. Not bad considering I would have  if I hadn't died to shadow.

My favorite tournament map. =) And sorry rev, I know you wanted to fight when we crossed each other on ferries but I was in re-fill mode. You must have shot and hit water 5 or 6 times before saying "fuck that dude". lol

I think i am the worst tourn player ever 30 pluss min fill 3 good kills all wasted killed a lt to make sarg another to make lt then another and didn't make captain

To the people that say you shouldn't be playing in tourns if your are not there to win, you are mistaken having numbers in the map is more than enough reason to show.

To the people that say lower ranks should be removed if they can't win. This assumes that they couldn't have an impact on the top 5 players or the top 3 are not going to die (Bradbury Gold meddle winter Olympics) Shit happends

You have to practice in order to win - in order to practice you have to play tournament. I think the idea is to always be TRYING to win. As soon as your not trying to win, stupid deaths and screwing around goes on - which can be an issue.

Getting to a play for an hour with a lot of people is fun weather there is cups involved or not .
Mad props for setting that example at the end and taking the death

Page just refeshes... like your whole browser page reloads?

If so I don't think that would be anything TP related.

Or do you mean the game just quits almost as though you hit "Q"?

my browser doesn't actually refresh, but that's what it looks like. the browser itself stays put, just the game screen refreshes/reloads. also, i hear a "tock" sound right when the game screen boots me out and reloads :hmmm:

This, I play for an hour's worth of none-stop action. I just play for fun and if I cup its just a bonus. I never enter to "win" a tournament, I enter to just pph/chase kills for fun and don't care if I get a cup or not. - It just so happens that I get a cup more often than not lol

Also SW, I always had the same problem after every tournament apart from the last one I played. On the 57min mark (give or take) my game applet would reload so I have to re-enter. It normally always happens when somebody is getting mobbed and when I re-enter they are usually dead or I don't have enough time to get back to the mob before the tourn ends. I haven't complained much because 57mins is more than enough time for me to secure a cup but I feel for less skilled players like picta who need that extra 3 mins to still fail.

What browser are you guys using? I think the page refresh is related to your browser clock running too fast. Are you using any sort of speeder program?

chrome and no, no speeder program. The page doesn't refresh, just the game applet. It just says "connection closed" (or what ever it says) then the applet turns white then re-loads and the java warning shows again.

Yo PRIDE, IM me for TP DTT 1.0.

Thanks for the props :drinks: I am not saying its not fun, or that you shouldn't enjoy yourself. I am telling you that the KEY to the idea of keeping tournaments free of illegitimate kills is for everyone to care, and not give up. As soon as a player says "screw it" and decides he just wants to fool around and possibly die without caring, that player may change the tournament for a contender who hasn't given up on winning. I am not saying you shouldn't play the full hour, but play the entire hour as if every # you lower is a victory!
I am not sure if you played BF of old or not, but it was all about PPH for 55 minutes, and then you were guaranteed to kill some one who had given up and were essentially handing out free kills. That is what we want to avoid in tournaments of new, we want a more natural environment to the results. This will also give less likely contenders a shot a winning a cup since the hardcore PPH'ers may not get the kill required.

Krusty wrote:This, I play for an hour's worth of none-stop action. I just play for fun and if I cup its just a bonus. I never enter to "win" a tournament, I enter to just pph/chase kills for fun and don't care if I get a cup or not. - It just so happens that I get a cup more often than not lol

We all enter tournaments to win, its why they are so fun. Winning to one person may mean top 3, others it may mean top 15. The COMPETITION is the fun part, anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves or trying to fool others. That adrenaline rush you get right before the map opens, you click the map and cross your fingers for that box of extras. Know why we get that adrenaline rush? because its a competition.

try it on realtime and your clock will run too fast.

to what's his name/picta: try it without, clock probably won't.

happens to me every tourney I run on realtime, ill take my dot on hope

if that doesn't work and/or yourde not using realtime, try playing the tournament with other memory consuming shit open

I'm going to assume picta has windows xp, I know what's his name does. congrats on realtime effect etc etc

would like to borrow one of you 2 to test on runescape classic one of these days to test a theory and confirm that my computer isn't the only weird one. might bring in a player or 2 from over there with xp/freezing/overclock issues and see if they have the same thing happen in tankpit.

yeah i'm using xp but i don't set the priority to realtime, just "normal"

there was one update many months ago that stopped it and allowed to to finish off the tournament without getting kicked but then something must've triggered it again

going to see if sw fixed it in several days

I never put it on realtime. When I tested this months and months back when you was chain moving ( :P ) it made my browser go unresponsive and I had so many problems with it. I haven't changed any java settings or realtime settings.

The clock doesn't "speed up" for me, at 57mins (on my phone, pc, clock on my wall and my stats) I get kicked (give or take a few seconds). There was 1 recent tournament I got to play fully, I forgot what one but I'm sure I took a cup in it. Then the next tournament it started to happen again. I just assumed you was giving me a handicap since I'm so much better at this game than everybody else. I'm not sure why you would handicap picta tho, he needs an extra 10 to 15 mins if anything.
