this is just ridiculous. I lose silver in the last 10 seconds of the tournament. i lost by about 4 single shots. What a joke.
I froze up about 3 times in the tournament and had to quit out for a solid minute or so each time... I am just frustrated at how many things went wrong including that purple corporal "Yet"? that bugged me and killer the last 2 minutes (costing me probably my silver cup) and i continue to recup the same bronze cup now on alpha as i did on lance.Rize idk who you are, congrats man that was very slick but
lol. gosh dam. Overall fun tourney if i just didnt have to quit out so many times.
was it you or rize that killed me? I know you stole my 1100 fuel and only hope of survive at the end...
Were you stinky pinky? if u were, i did jack ur fuel and i did kill u lol.987 wrote: carried rize into 2nd in the final minute by sitting and burning with him lol.
why thank you kind sir.u did it just in time at 59:50.
haha nice yes I was Stinky Pinky.

Also observed some q-lows that would have resulted in legitimate kills
so, this is a bad thing? does everyone want tourneys to have very few kills? how is anyone suppose to get a kill at the very end if everyone is eliminated?
You could get a kill at the very end, but it would be on a player that is aware they still have a chance to cup and is actively doing what they can to fulfill that goal rather than someone who is just there to watch, mess around, or in the worst case: manipulate the results on purpose.
In this tournament:
-HavingFun came back in very late after quitting earlier; probably just wanted to watch the events unfold naturally but ended up dying nonetheless (tournaments need a spectator mode)
-YeP sat around at a low rank for most of the tournament and only ranked to sergeant at the very end
-StinkyPinky had been deactivated once already and had zero chance of placing top 3 when he was deactivated a second time in the final minutes; as reported above he too just wanted to watch
-PoS 01 had zero chance of getting into the top 3 via points, nor any chance to rank, when he was deactivated in the final minutes - many players faced with this situation (that moment when you're still in the tournament even though you know that it is mathematically impossible for you to cup) simply don't care if they die and thus, don't try as hard to survive. Not suggesting that this happened today, but it happens often.
Don't get me wrong; it's not that I want tournaments to have few kills. I don't care about the quantity of kills; I care about the quality of kills, which is often directly dependent on why the player that has been deactivated was in the tournament in the first place. Were they there to compete, or were they there for another reason?
One more thing: who is to say that the number of kills that occur at the end of tournaments currently is acceptable in the first place? Many players already agree that number of tanks that "manage to die" in the final minutes is absurd - the onus should be on scoring a kill on a player that is truly there to compete, rather than scoring a kill on somebody who dies to a mob because they were already out of contention and decided to mess around in the final minutes. If that in fact equates to a decreased number of kills but an increased level of legitimacy, shouldn't everyone be for it?
It's not a bad thing when there are lots of late kills and they're all legitimate; it's a bad thing when there are lots of late kills that happen because players stop caring about survival due to having mathematically lost many, many minutes earlier.
I would just like to add, that my death was completely legitimate on all accounts. I was shooting at RocketFucker when he quit low on the two blues, Hope Solo comes after me, we 1v1 for a bit 4 people tele to me, I have to turn shields on because it was all ghost fuel, I travel across the bottom, losing shields, and got my fuel jacked (see above). I would understand the frustration if I came back in with half of my eq and tried to be in a situation to die, but I filled up 76 and then 30 ERs to give it the best that I could. I couldn't help being a minority color with no radared in the bottom.
I just wanted to clear the air, although I had no chance of winning, (neither did half the people that were also playing) I shouldn't be mixed in with the likes of Yep (who ranked to serg with no eq then died) or PoS who is a confirmed shit bag. I do care if I die, you can ask Hope Solo who was the main reason I died if I was going down easy. I don't think of myself as a quitter, just because I died doesn't mean I am not going to come back and play.

PPH only tournaments so you don't have to bitch about kills, no EQ tournaments, no EQ and only PPH tournaments, highest rank wins tournaments etc.
Assuming this is directed at me, what if I told you I've already written the formula and am currently in the process of polishing it / making sure it would work properly before submitting it to SW? Is that enough action to back up my words? If I really thought tournaments were oh so bad the way they currently are, I wouldn't have played ~100 of them to date. I really don't believe I have come across as "crying about how tournaments are" and just letting my words be words; please trust me when I say I'm not about to let this whole thing both begin and end in words. I wouldn't have spoken otherwise; the stuff is in the works, it is what I am currently working on this quarter, and it is a lightbulb submission. Do I think it will win? Absolutely not based on the way people have responded to it so far, but what fun is it to go downstream with the odds?
it was a general statement because 21/28 active tournament players cry after every tournament but at least you are doing something other then passing out tissues
