game speed
I know this is the wrong forum for this thread but it will get the most notice here, so please bare with me. I am SO much slower than everyone else on this game. I play on reasonable internet with a reasonable computer, but my speed is so much slower than anyone else. In tournaments or if there are a lot of people in-game I can barely move and have to predict my moves so much further ahead than others. When i'm 1v1 it's completely fine. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem or does this require a new computer/the fastest internet?

A lot of players have very fast internet connections so you could be right. Press f6 when youre in the map and then let us know the most consistent ping you get when you do press it.

I don't know if you're new or not, but if you see other players moving significantly faster than you it may not necessarily be anything wrong with your setup. A lot of us have been around this game for over a decade and can time movements pretty well. It's especially noticeable when you're fighting 3-5 of the more experienced players in the community since they mine you in, take your fuel, or steal your equipment before you can react if you're taken by surprise.
If it is a problem with your stuff, though, it's most likely your computer since a lot of us play on average connections.
I would recommend a few things to start off.
First CTRL+ALT+DEL, go to Processes and see what you have open. I know my computer (hardly top of the line but less than a year old) will lag a fair amount if I have something like Steam or Origin running in the background. Close out of extra tabs with things like YouTube or pages that demand a lot of memory.
Another tip that a lot of people here have used at one point or another is to play around with the priority settings. Again, under the processes tab, right click java.exe (while you have the TankPit lobby open) and highlight "Set Priority" >> click on Above Normal or High. Realtime may cause instability in your computer (an older computer of mine used to [predictably] speed up for 10 minutes and then the applet would freeze if I had it set to Realtime). The difference ought to be minimal between High and Realtime.
If you have a lot of downloads in the background, this may affect your ping.
Out of curiosity, what's your in-game ping? Hold down F6 with your tank in the map to find out.
There are others here who may be able to offer you further assistance but these are some easy starting points.

That's above average. Most, I think, ping around 30-60. See if you have something running in the background that uses the internet heavily.
EDIT: Also, I posted something in a thread you made a long time ago. Check it out and see if it helps. viewtopic.php?f=132&t=16334&p=281243#p281243

thanks buddy. you know it's kinda embarrassing because i'm actually very experienced player and all of you in this forum have def battled me. I just could never figure out the speed aspect of this game. Even when I played this game in early 2000's I was never as fast as the others and i've had various computers which are good, if not above average.

Be sure to play on Chrome/Firefox or some variant, anything that isn't Internet Explorer really.
Also, try finding the Power Settings for your computer - should be somewhere in the Control Panel. Set it to High Performance (rather than Balanced or Power Saver or any other default plans). Made a big difference for me.

IE is underrated. I use it all the time.
to OP. Its most likely your computer. It makes a difference what your computer is doing while in tankpit and will effect your game play. Your ping is not terrible either, but not the greatest.

IE sucks and will probably not be supported in future TankPit client (because IE insists on having their own Javascript quirks, rather than being compatible with the other browsers).

i dont agree with this. i use chrome myself to play. but there are too many players who use IE and potential new players who will find the game will use IE also

PRIDE

I use IE and people always ask how I am so fast.
I honestly don't believe the browser you're using has anything to do with how fast you are. it's all dependent on your reaction time to situations and your internet connection itself.
