What is keeping people from deactivating their own tanks?

What is keeping people from making a tank on a seperate account, and playing 2 different accounts at once, say your main account with your main tank, and the side account with the trash tank.

Then going in and ranking the trash tank up to like lieut. and killing it with your main captain to rank to major? Is that even possible? I would guess that the game wouldn't allow it but it got me wondering lol.

There is something in place that stops the same IP address killing another tank on the same IP address. Doesn't matter if these tanks are on the same reg or different regs.

I also believe there is something in place to stop 2 tanks from the same account playing at once. I am not 100% sure about this one though as I haven't had any reason to test it.

You can use two different internet explorers to play on two tanks at once they have to be two different accounts, it wont do you any good since it tracks your IP as krusty said. some players could possibly use a VPN on a Vitrual machine or on another computer in your house but thats all too much trouble to go through just to give yourself free FKs

It's possible to play 2 tanks through the same computer and rank all the way up to general. All it requires is for you to have 2 browsers, and a proxy installed on one. That way your IPs won't match even though you are fking yourself from the same computer. So that being said, go fk yourself right now. :P

Yes, you can do it that way. Lots of effort though and why anybody would want to take free kills other than for swords is beyond me. It would be much easier to make a blue tank and get triple than it would be to make ranks and fk yourself up lol

I used to FK myself all the time. Just used my school's virtual desktop to run one session and my own computer for the other.

Otherwise, you can shoot your own tank but the kills won't count (can't remember what the deal was w/points).

I didn't want to start a "new" thread, so Mr VolMan, hope you don't mind. My question is sorta related to this topic.

Can someone please tell me why the promotion rules of TankPit are abruptly altered once you reach the rank of Major? Up until this point, all you had to do to (at a minimum) get promoted is kill a rank lower and get some promo points (maybe 2 round of duals). Once you reach Major, the rules change in that you now have to kill a Colonel or General. I know there must be some logic behind this. Couple some please explain.
Thank You,
WEENIE BOY

Hello Mr Zubby,
Yes! You are correct.........excuse me, I got my ranks mixed up. I'm referring to a Colonel. Why can't a Colonel deactimate a Major to make General? I was just wondering the logic behind it. As I said before, up until this point, it is to kill one rank lower (with some promo points) for the promo. But at Colonel it stops........so what good is it if you're a Colonel fighting a Major? Please don't get stuck on the why fighting part..........my main question is why the change? Or what is the logic? Hope this is clear enough........if not, I'll shut up.

There is no real answer, but it's likely just because general is supposed to be the ultimate prestige rank. It's the highest rank, so it requires extra effort to obtain it. That extra effort is a colonel kill instead of the expected major kill.

Also, think about it, colonel kills are a lot harder to come by than major kills, so once you actually hit general, you feel pretty fucking good since it took you so long.

This shit is one of the most annoying things in TankPit.

As soon as I hit colonel or went in on a colonel/general, faggots would start streaming in after some snitch would announce my entering to the Blast Chat.

I got used to having to start radaring as soon as I went in on Monumental because inevitably I would be taking a 7v1 or 8v1 within 10 minutes.

You can just imagine who the main culprit is for that too, :hah: . One of the main reasons i left blast chat was to avoid all external influences in game, but also, blast chat is fucking annoying as shit and its obvious when stuffs going down too. Funnier part is when they deny it ever happens. Been countless times when ive gone in on cols / gens on all different tanks that no one knew about and watch people funnel in just at complete random when right before it was dead as fuck And this stems all the way back to TP 1 Beginnings, its nothing new. That selective mobbing really kills peoples motivation who dont like that. And to be honest at that point when people are just coming in to selectively kill for rank then quit out, I dont blame anyone for leaving map to avoid that bullshit, especially when i see players trying to rank tanks they dont even play on or just raid at general. This is why when i cup a tank i use my own tanks to rank myself up, so im not unnecessarily killing ranks on throwaways for no reason. And with that im only using my own ranks and creating a bunch more tanks to take raids on when i feel like it.
