Re: Open to ideas
i had an idea on how to help reduce faking. Why not make the Experience points gained when shooting someone slowly decrease if you continually shoot the same person over and over. For example, you have tank "A", tank "B" and tank "C". If tank "A" shoots tank "B" ten times straight then the amount of experience gained from shooting tank "B" would slowly decrease until tank "A" shot ten shots at tank "C" (or any other tank that is not tank "B"). The decrease could vary depending on how the experience points system works, same with amount of shots it would take to decrease. this would be very helpful in tournaments, it would rid of all those players who just partner up with someone the whole tourney for easy points, and would force those who sit on ferry's in water tournys to move elsewhere if they want to keep up with the leaders.

Have thought of this. Main problem is that it would take a lot of memory to record every tank that shoots every other one.

and people would be punished when activity is at a point where you cant help but shoot the same person. what to make it so people to pph anymore? Remove leaderboards, aka not gonna happen.
Add more incentives for people who play and take big raids and die and contribute via ranking and de ranking. right now the best incentive for coming in and taking a raid is a lousy prop on the forum. right now my tanks arent even full, its just too fun to come in and die to a massive mob to go ahead and fill from 0 ers after.

From my experience, "buffing" a game is always better than "nerfing" it. Instead of taking points away from players that shoot 1v1, give a bonus to a player that is constantly shooting different tanks.
Not actually saying you have to do this but just an example of a better way to look at things imo when considering changes.

003 has a great point. fakers gonna fake they always have and always will only thing they get is top 10 and a rusty i really don't see why its such a huge deal. when we could be coming up with ideas to make the game better for players that play right. seems like everybody's just worried about top10. IMO it don't matter the least bit everybody knows who faked to get there. everybody knows who played and got there the "right way" find ways to make the game better for people who play right. should be top priority. worry about that shit later just ny 0.02

Zero equipment tournies
Much smaller maps (specifically designed for cluster fucks)
Shorter time limits
Death limits
this would open the door for new PH awards
and would level the field for sure

no not really, I never see pphing going on and no tanks but seans imo really have exceptional pph. everyones playing to take raids and trying to snuff out something permanently that isn't really there anyway these days.
like I suggested back in utanks. use raid taking bonuses as the deciding factor for number. the more raid taking points you accumulate, the better your number is. pphing virtually eliminated. only the most skilled players maintain the best numbers. it is a war game after all, people should be rewarded on the leaderboards for their ability to survive and conquer, not how many shots they can fire off at a single enemy.

I don't see why you all hate 1v1'ing so much. Its a way people play the game. If you are going to allow such things as low quitting, then how on earth can you justify trying to abolish 1v1'ing? I personally enjoy it a lot. Although boring to some, I find it rather fun and really makes me want to play.
Whats wrong with having a pph tank? SO what if I wouldn't want to take a raid on a specific tank.... It would be my choice.

1. Roomba Bots
Corporal bots should be employed to be more functional. Corporal bots are capable of shooting one full mine plant away. After a certain color dominates the map the map is left behind heavily mined and not many players have a sense of map maintenance. Therefore I propose that corporal bots are enabled to drive around, and when they encounter enemy mines they fire at them. if they hit invisible mines they use the radar to uncover them. This can be efficient in keeping a nicer map for all.
2. Crosshair customization.
Normally in game the mouse is just the regular arrow. This leaves room for adding a cool new feature. Before you enter the game on the enter map screen, there is a crosshair, this is the only time this is ever used, and i think it should be a feature to choose from in game. You can have it set to have a cross hair in game, or a mouse pointer. Or maybe even a small circle so you can see fuels within it when you make teleports or moves. This could also be a purple heart contest in order for players to design crosshairs or custom mouse settings in game to make it feel more military like. A possible 5 different styles to choose from would be sufficient and giving a diverse selection for players to experiment with.
3. Entering game screen:
Many new players who enter the game may still not enter the map fully knowing the functions. I propose that when a new account is made, and they enter map they get a different screen rather than the usual "a java something is being loaded to your computer" reminding them of the basic functions when they enter. Or maybe that screen should be altered altogether with a more functional use being reminders for in game play and move the original text to the bottom as a smaller text.
4. In game callouts:
When players of the same color call out equipment detected on their screen it should say the amount in parentheses next to it. i.e "Equipment detected at: 147,147 (5)"
Same goes for fuel detected here except it names the highest fuel tank "fuel detected at 147,147 (876)"

Some really solid ones in here cam. Really love #2 and #4 the most. Having Crosshairs to select from in game would be a nice little quirk to add to the game, and since it can add to a new possible PH contest it has multiple benefits coming out of one idea.
I like the callouts as well, can really help teammates, and new players fill with these kinds of things. Simple ideas that dont really fuck with the core of the game, thats the shit i like.

Also i think you should add a section like this to the bulletin board, it would force the community to use it more and probally cause less of the same ideas being sent in over and over, and reduce the large amount of emails from award submissions.

Molekula wrote:Maybe start new accounts with 5-10 ERs and nothing else. Keep the stuff thats already there to help new tanks like equip from bots etc. When the ERs run out, the new tanks should get an idea of how important they are and hopefully after afew deaths, take some time out to fill up.
Not sure if this was overlooked but thought id give myself a lil bump, cuz I can. This was in response to SWs attempt at finding a viable solution to helping new tanks, without effecting the current pph system, adding a new map or impacting on current mechanics.
Benefits -
1) 5-10 ERs for new accounts gives players an immediate chance to familiarize themselves with what equip looks like, how to pick it up etc.
2) Eliminates troll accounts being made to simply annoy raids as a recruit (full equip new accounts was an idea posted here)
3) Giving new players a limited taste of the various equipment will hopefully encourage them to fill up on their own, without the sometimes tedious time frame required to fill from recruit.
4) Little to no impact on the current pph system or game mechanics.
5) 5-10 ERs is a decent amount to put off exp players from hunting recruits for equip gains.
Noticed there was a suggestion here that questionnaires be used for new accounts after they had racked up 1-2 hours of play on either the main map or practice map. My two cents is that this is a trialled and tested method for accessing the thoughts of new players on the game. I cant imagine General Lucy is too keen on reading through dozens of questionnaires every week, but maybe could enlist the help of a forum member to help tally up the results and pass them on. Some aptly aimed questions could be a great source of constructive feedback from the new faces with a fresh outlook. Oh and questionnaires was my idea
that is all

Anyone proposed a idea of a popular tank contest per month? One vote per IP to the tank of your choice and as the month draws to a close there will be top 25 then 15 then 5 till the winner is picked and featured as a tank of the month?

TankHunter wrote:Would be an interesting idea tho.
Say for every additional tank over 2 shooting you, your shots gain you an additional .25% in points per shot.
Example: Warrior is beasting a 6 man raid. He would be earning double the amount of points he normally would.
Would really encourage raid taking and large group fights.
Now to go about the ever changing numbers per turn, have it delayed... and per turn.
So say Warrior was taking the raid, he'd have to go 5 turns with 3+ players shooting him in order for the system to take effect. After the 5 turns, each turn determines the points given for Warriors next turn. So if warrior gets shot by 6 players while waiting for his next turn, the next turn is worth 200% (in theory), after that turn if he happens to get shot by 10 players, he gets 300% (in theory) points for the following shot.
Of course the percentage can be adjusted.

see this was an idea i proposed a while back. maybe bring in a new award (or use the silver shield) that would be given to players who spend 50 hours in battle (a battle can be considered any screen of 5 players or more). this would goad players into battling, creating activity and also reward them for doing so.

Been scheming over an idea to create a PH contest for awhile now and this is what I got.
If the combined total hours played by all tanks on an account is something that can be tracked, it would be great to have various levels of accounts depending on hours played. (Doesnt have to be hours played. Could be based on total kills or somethin similar)
Example:
100+ hour account = Bronze
200+ hour account = Silver
500+ hour account = Gold
1000+ hour account = Platinum (debatable)
Once an account reaches bronze level, an option would appear either under their account/tank settings or an extra button would appear to the right of the 'Contact' button to display all of that accounts unlocked skins.
When a player reaches a bronze account level, they unlock 3 custom skins to use as they please on their account. Once that player reaches silver account level, they get an additional 3 skins to choose from etc. (Accounts with 500+ hours would eventually have 9 custom skins to choose from). Tis also a good idea to have a notice on the homage for non forum users to know that custom skins are available for veteran accounts.
Give the community 1 month to create as many skins as they choose, submitting as many as they see fit. At the end of the month, SW can hand pick 10-15 of his favourite skins and create a vote thread for everyone to choose their favourites. (Doesnt have to be 10-15, could vote on all submitted skins to give everyone who has invested time a chance of winning) Players who's skins are up for vote are not allowed to indicate which skin is theirs (to minimize bias. Tis impossible to eliminate tho) and are only allowed 1 vote per forum account. Anyone breakin the rules is eliminated from the PH contest, even if your skins get the most votes. (Dont wanna get bogged down in how the vote can be done in a fair manner, so any suggestions on a legit voting system would be great)
I suggest making the entry requirements for the contest something like having a minimum of 3 skins submitted. This way, only 3 winners need to be picked and will have their 3 skins up for selection depending on if they came 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the vote. 3rd place skins would obviously be the bronze account level rewards with the 2nd place skins being a silver account reward etc.
Am hoping this would be a relatively easy thing to implement for SW, but have no idea myself. The point is, it would open up the possibility for 3 PHs to be awarded (Any more than 3 is overkill and no doubt devalues the PH). I feel skins would add that little extra incentive to keep playing, not just for noobs but for the pro's. Also, the basis of this idea can be bent and shaped for different outcomes so any suggestion are welcome. Doesnt have to be 3 skins per unlock btw, could be simply 1 skin or 5, duno.

Further from what I discussed to increase security. If we do plan to expand, stuff like this will be pretty useful :D

So fucking much this. Boo fucking hoo just play the damn game. If we keep going down the make stupid changes like no 1v1'ing path no one will give a shit about this game. Especially with the amount of bitching about lack of players to justify a second map and now we want to punish people for attacking each other in a game with incredibly low activity as it is?

I don't give a FUCK what people do, as long as they don't preach they are legit and call out other players been a hypocrite.
I want to see more tournament play styles, no quit lows but mob, take the raid or don't take the raid, do w.e they fuck you want.
Tournaments the most fun part of the game, why can't the whole game be a never ending tournament.

I completely agree with this. This game is getting harder and pretty much wasted a lot of time. Think about it. You play for 10 hours per day and expect a rusty sword. I'm not sure if someone actually tried. Apparently, I just tried once and it sucks. You just wait on the Map to kill time. This game should have some award such as special award that are so hard to get like WC, DOT, PH, and LB possible some other award for TOP 25 and Team or Clan.
Honestly, TankPit should be a hybrid of Battlefield and Rogue Battalion, and more emphasis on teamwork. People cheat because they want to get all the awards for themselves while those without it will be left empty-handed. Tournament should really be team-based.

since I don't have the code I can't write it out but imo with all of the allegations of sh'ing and external programs why don't you create a script that records all of the inconsistencies in the game (somewhere along the lines of an event viewer) so that you can go over the sorted version and determine who may and may not be using some sort of game enhancement.
There has been enough chatter about potential sh's and such for years and most of them should be discounted. More and more people on 50-100mbps connections are reporting supposed "lag spikes" when the isp guarantees tcp packet delivery pretty much all the time. They pay for quality of service.

Someone should make a TankPit app. Simplify the game so its playable on a phone and tablet. Would be fucking insane advertising for the real game! Have a some sort of leader board n shit.
