There WOULD be 20 players in the game for 2 hours a night IF Fluke and Bluntz were banned.
That is an absolute FACT.
You would easily get half of AoW, Elements, Transformers and myself back within two weeks

Any possible way you would implement the " Active Commands " i have been asking for ? Just want feedback from you personally SW. Obviously, it matters.

Edit :
Can you also implement a feedback tool for the player to see if his/her submission is being reviewed ? Maybe 1-3 stages of reviews ? Like the Domino s bar. Everyone would shut up and just check the submission bar rather than blow up your email box and this forum.
I feel like the website is not personal at all. Its just a log-in and play concept. It would be nice for every player to have a little personalize account rather than a list of tanks. Maybe, the stats of each tank on the tank lists ? Rather than having to login and hitting C OR if you implement my active commands idea the player can click on C instead .

No, I should not be banned. I try to help the game more than 90% + of players here. I'm a huge helper for the newbs. I don't cheat in any way and I play to the best of my ability (better than 90% + of players here.)
Anyway, going to re-post sylar's message since every thread is an excuse for a what's his name hate thread, you are jealous of me, deal with it some other way rather than stalking me please.
Jordann wrote:just a heads up ill be moderating this thread heavily and any off topic banter will be deleted and multiple offenders will be banned. I dont foresee some mind blowing revelation to occur in this thread but ill atleast give it a chance to try.

can we have a damage per hour stat ? It would be nice to know who actually takes the most damage/ most shots per hour. This idea is referring towards raids . People would be more inclined to take raids to show off their stats. LIKE ?

A shot counter. When you engage a player it would have to start a clock. After 'x' amount of duals have been fired on the same tank within a time frame, dual shots get deactivated for 'y' minutes. This would force faking players to use single shots more than duals, keeping the points more reasonable.![]()

Also - if they are ineffective fakers - the dual shots wouldn't get deactivated. So it would only shut down extreme 1v1. (and eliminate free-shooting)
Would be funny to see if that changed some people's tournament consistency
good general train of thought, poor execution. you are penalizing skill. I will never vouch something that does that, and this is my issue with trying to nerf faking to begin with. how does this apply if only 2 people are in? how do other ideas that have the same intent translate over to tournaments? do they? these are the questions..
and yea, I guess even tho sws post did kind of piss me off, I can't just bail due to that, even tho I bet some of you wish I would ;/
this is way too important
I agree. 1v1 can be pretty damn fun imo. I was just trying to make SW happy so he would give me an award.
however, it could work. Say the time frame is a large number of duals over 20 minutes. If you manage to hit that in a tournament you deserve to get your duals deactivated. In map you could still go several sets with the same player. If there are only 2 players in map then it'd be a faking situation IMO. Although armor battles could occur. I still think that trying to nerf faking is basically impossible.

Ive seen a lot of ideas for this game on this thread. I will share what had been in my head
It is pretty obvious that this game needs a steady playbase. Yes this game has at one time had a decent size fan base. At one point, for one reason or another we
have lost most of the players on this game wether it be other players or personal obligations. I have created a facebook for this game and I really want to use the Whole Facebook to advertise this game
https://www.facebook.com/pages/TankpitC ... 854?ref=hl.
Putting this game directly on facebook would most likely overpower the game and may not be the best idea. I still have to obtain funds for this exploit. I believe that getting the playbase revamped for this game would over time reduce a big problem for this game. Having the map constantly filled with newer tanks ready to battle mixed in with what we got now would reduce faking. It would also get the field hoping. I know it all sounds like a gamble it as to how much good it will because we dont know if the new players would flop, flourish or become like the very players that destroy this game. Enough good feedback from us players that enjoy playing could hone these new players. This game currently relys on the limited amout of players and inconsistent game play. I believe one of the real reasons we want change is because most of us have seen this game the same way for so long. The New maps and the Games name change are all that feed our desire to still play and not want to quit against all the monotony. New Players dont have the 5 to 10 years of experience of this game to compare to.
One thing I would really like to see on this game for the new recruits sake would be the practice map!

I think being allowed to ql is fine. SW is right, it does help noobs.
I remember I used to ql way back in the day in bf when I just started playing and I thought the objective of the game was to rank to general. I know I would have never kept playing if I kept getting deactivated every time I came on.
Noobs ql, but better players marathon. In my opinion we need to let noobs be noobs, allow them to learn the objective and ethics of the game at their own pace.
However, we need to punish marathoners by increasing the amount of fuel it costs to teleport or making a maximum teleportation distance (maybe 150 spaces?). Obviously, the main criticism to this is that the marathoners will just ql but I think most of us would be fine with that. I know I would be.

There's no need to enhance the skill gap or learning curve. Instead, what Sw wants to do is give more incentive to skilled players over faking. It's a tough conundrum tho. Instead of blasting out a bunch of mediocre ideas you guys need to think together and figure out non game changing ways to accomplish this whether it be from raid bonus, raid award or extended leader boards. Good luck, I may pump out some quality this weekend when I got time. So far this thread hasn't offered Anything that hasn't been suggested in the past unfortunately.
Even so I'm going to throw out another warning to the posters participating. Keep it civil. Past occurrences and reputations have no place here. Bring it to one of the dozens of threads dictated for that. We're all here for the same reason, enhance the gaming experience of a childhood classic. Lets work together not against each other. This isn't directed to anyone specifically so don't get offended, we have sws ear, lets not lose it.

remove pphing, make the leaderboards number improvement solely based on raid taking points. the only way to improve your number is to be taking good raids.
this ensures only the players who deserve to be on the tops of the leaderboards are on the leaderboards and the faggots can't advance without playing legit

I think Q low is important for newbies. We can't just throw it away because it annoys us. If things didn't annoy us and everything went exactly how we wanted it to there would be no challenge or reason left to play. The whole Q low, depo fuel, lying in wait always added a nice dynamic to the game, IMO.
The key thing for yall to keep in mind is that all players cannot and should not be the same. The game thrives on having an assortment of players and strategies. A group of skilled and expert players may have developed out of that assortment, but it still requires that assortment as a foundation. The game doesn't work well without a solid base of newbies. Educating newbies isn't a priority at all IMO. Let them have their fun and educate themselves if they want to. Ideas have to be considered from all perspectives, not just from your own.
+ There is already something in place to lower the effectiveness of high ranks against new players, but clearly it doesn't work well enough. I'll be adding further penalties as there's really no reason for experienced players to be bashing newbies when they first step into the map.
+ Practice map will be coming soon.
+ Test map will be created to trial any noticeable game changes if they are eventually considered. I'm not going to write off a raid bonus sort of system entirely, but I'm skeptical about it (and every other change).
+ Currently I'm rewriting lots of the code and hoping to write automated tests to reduce the amount of bugs.
This thread shouldn't be mistaken for a blind call for ideas.

Also, I didn't make this thread, someone split it from one of my posts in another thread. The topic is essentially true as I've always been open to ideas, it just shouldn't be taken as "desperate for" or "going to blindly implement" ideas.

Someone quits low? Big deal, target the next guy. He marathons? Not a big deal if there's still 20 other targets in the map. Two people are faking in the water / in a corner somewhere? Not for long, the other 40 players in the map will probably take notice. With enough players in the game, it becomes hard to organize anything at all in terms of points and kills.
Every problem that exists have right now is magnified because there is less activity. When someone quits low, it's a big deal because you might not have an opportunity to rank again for days. If heightened activity was sustained it wouldn't be much of a problem.
Take some initiative and go advertise. For real, if there were a constant 20 players in the map there would be nothing to complain about (except tournaments, maybe.)

I'll be running some ads after other things on the TODO list are complete.

Why not add a simple chat service on the site, under the main playing window. A general, basic chat so people can talk in map. Always loved that feature of the DTT. Obviously put some sort of mod on it, where spammers and people who use profanity get kicked / banned from chat and/or game.
:::SEE BELOW PAINT EXAMPLE:::
note: Obviously it'd be done differently so it wouldn't go off the page like that, I was threw it together as a visual aid. Doesn't need to be something Special. Simple is often better. I think it would be a solid add to the game.

You clearly have your chat area. To the left of the chat area is the Logged on chat members box. Lets you know who is in the chat.
Red symbolizes Admin, Orange Mod. And blue underlined is the "user"
Same as forum. Could put a separate log in feature for chat, or by the tank name. Also a "Close Chat" check box would be appropriate for those whom wish to not participate in chat for example if you are taking a raid and don't want the extra distraction.

Because the best part of the game, and the only part that most players have ever known, was playing alone without chatting with other players. Why throw that away?
If a handful of players want to talk on chat and flame each other that's their prerogative, but it shouldn't be forced on everyone.
Once again, newbies are vital to the game.

I know messing with the points system is a touchy subject but if you want to make 1v1 funner...
10% more points earned when your fuel is below 50%.
25% more points earned when your fuel is below 25%.
This is just an example, the numbers could be completely different.
Should encourage players to fight with lower fuel and would cause a lot of shield fighting and low fuel tactics (crucial mines / angle shots / scope shots / anticipation / etc).

At the risk of going off topic...
Something that could possibly be done to help activity in the interim until the game gets really active is to go with all land-maps. Don't get me wrong, my favorite maps are probably Iceland and Deep Six - and the Apache map looks like a BEAUTY...

...but the amount of water on the map should be dependent on and directly proportional to the amount of players the game is able to attract at any given time. Water maps are so crazy fun when the game is very very active, but they become downright unplayable when activity falls below a certain level. As things stand currently, you probably need land maps to bring in players in the first place, so they should probably be the only type of map seen until things really pick up. I think that activity builds upon itself - the more active the map already is on a nightly basis, the more likely even more people are to come in - so I think a pure-land rotation could really snowball activity over the summer.
Oh and yeah, summer though. Might your best time to advertise. Get tons of kids playing. I hope you know exactly where you want to advertise!

A poll must be made. There has got to be, like, a million words in this thread already
I would like to read the thoughts of Sir eldawg on this matter
Or 5UPER5TITION!
Some of my thoughts on new ideas since SW will let noobs be noobs.
1. A team objective, which be holding down a territory on the map. There could be multiple territoires depending on activity. It's would be similiar to a king of the hill game, but, going against SW entirely, points (numbers) would have to be implemented into the game. Adding territories to gameplay would not alter the general mechanics too much because the territory doesn't need to be a huge amount of points. Players just need something to actually fight for ya know? O, n btw, It's 2013 and without something to look at people get bored let's face facts. Numbers are always moving (points), and faking will be NOT BE a problem with activity. I know Jordann wants really in depth talk about ideas but I smoked some nice ganj a lil bit ago and am done typing for the night.
Side thought, certain players become insignificant on the leaderboards anyway. Yes everyone knows they are there on the lists, but how they got there and what they stand for truly matters in the end.

Obviously put some sort of mod on it, where spammers and people who use profanity get kicked / banned from chat and/or game.
Because the best part of the game, and the only part that most players have ever known, was playing alone without chatting with other players. Why throw that away?
If a handful of players want to talk on chat and flame each other that's their prerogative, but it shouldn't be forced on everyone.
Once again, newbies are vital to the game.
These newbies you always speak of don't exist. Unless tankpit gets put on a bigger gaming site then this game is is destined for more of the same. Why do I feel like you are Citadel, SW lol.
