I'm pretty sure he meant that the people who take the most raids tend to be the best raid takers. I see nothing about advantages and disadvantages.

Wrong, just read what he wrote. Nothing about being the best takers lol

If all you have to do is empty duals then raid over I will never die again. Same for a lot of people.

Older players or better raid takers should take for longer. New players or not so good ones will be given a chance to fill earlier. The aim is to always better your game so take for as long as you can. Not for as quick as you can then bitch out to fill.

what's his name if you're easily emptying on all raids you're obv not taking properly. Someone who takes like hurley would deserves the fill after emptying.what I meant in my last post is if someone survives a raid, they're more likely to continue taking knowing there's a chance they don't die. That's basic logic. If someone dies in every raid they get bored eventually and either stop taking or stop playing

If you guys want the game to grow you need to make raids beatable. Some of you can keep taking ham style but don't get all pissed cause others want a beatable challange.

Agreed with jordann. All raids should be taken hard as fuck. What you do after depends on yourself. I've been going deathmode lately but I may chill out and call brbs when I empty.

When you take a raid, you should always go hard. I even use shields in 2v1's sometimes.

As far as saying "brb" I'd expect people to respect mine and I respect theirs but I don't always say it. People never seem to break off though if you don't say brb...even if you've been empty for a while...

Oh, didn't you know that 1 shot-teleing is the way to go? I mean you can take really long raids and be super, super good. You also won't have to fill much. Beast mode dog

Ok, re-reading that I did word it wrong.

What I was getting at. It doesn't seem impressive to me when somebody empties really quickly then brb's. They should keep going, last for a long time and that is impressive.

I go death mode every raid. I just think the game is a lot easier now than ever. I guess I finally figured out how to take eh?

lol. Whats more impressive? emptying in 7 minutes, or emptying in 3? imo someone who emptied faster went harder, infact thats not even just my opinion its just truth.

Obvs 3 mins. That's not hy I am getting at though. Yes 3 mins means they went hard but they should keep going to last 7mins.

I'm not talking about how fast a player can empty, I'm talking about how long a player can go after being empty.

pretty much this. i could make any raid on me last 10-20 minutes easy (if you've raided me in a tournament you know this), i just prefer challenging myself and emptying as quickly as possible. to each their own i guess

If you want to fill say brb, that will be respected if you did well. I like to just continue to take until my radars are low then I will brb or as somebody else said, the raiders give up. This does happen a lot, shoot 20-30 singles after all your duels and by then everybody is out of eq and you could continue to take all day no problem so they will break to fill. You should play by the new standards set by the community, not playing by these will result in you not being respected. I should know, take my advice hurls.

Thanks for your advice what's his name but it's a bit different on water dominated maps. Tbh it's like some of you are all talking to me like I've never been around the block before. As far as I'm concerned I make of a portion of this 'community' everyone speaks of and I think players should give the players who take raids more lee-way when they successfully shoot all duals and a few singles into a raid of 5+ tanks. If that's too much too ask for and everyone wants to rape all the raid takers down to an insignificant rank then go ahead, I won't play like that though.

Sorry bro, I didn't mean to sound like that.

Most of us want to take until death or see how long we last. It's fun that way. It's far to easy to empty on a raid these days. Make the game more difficult. It's changed so much from the start of bf through the years then completely changed for Utanks and now it's different again. Move on with the times I guess.

When you make posts on the forum stop talking for everyone and saying shit like "most of us". May it actually be true or as real as anything or not, just chill what's his name. You won;t even reveal so how can anyone take anything you say seriously..

I type before I think a lot. You know this so u chill. When did the subject change to how fast or slow to empty? I tried to put it back on track, I will try again.

For some reason you think by me saying 'lasting longer is more impressive' means not going as hard? Idiots. I'm simply saying going hard for 3 mins is good, then go that extra mile an keep going hard for 7mins or longer. (Just using the same numbers as sylar) what's so hard to understand? Would you be impressed if I emptied in 3 mins and hit brb or would you be more impressed if I emptied in 3 mins then continued to go just as hard for another 3-4 mins also giving the raiders more of a chance of killing me.

Now how can you guys think that is not more impressive?

A lot of people who "empty" in 2-3 min's didn't start with many duels to begin with. I'm more inclined to keep attacking someone if they "emptied" really quick than if I've seen them let off a lot of duels. That said, I'll always respect a brb unless I'm sure they still have duels...

And of course it's really easy to tell if someone is going hard or not :hammertime:

in a vacuum, sure. i can't speak for anyone else obviously but my mentality/attitude in regards to specific takes is very situational. i am more likely to try and fill fight the legit/respectable 7v1 (especially if it consists of many players who also take raids) than i am the 12v1 of mostly tag along fuckwits and color hoppers who make sure they are never a sustainable target... especially if these kids are doing a lot of gay shit and lobbing in long moves that accomplish nothing other than to generate lag and put the screen +x time behind. as the number of shields burned (vs. shields actually needed/used) by the game catching up after moves increases, so does my likelihood of enforcing my own brb when i've seen enough.

there are a lot of different variables that can influence the tone/pace of the raid, and in my opinion they skew in enough different directions that certain actions/decisions can become more justifiable and even obvious.. plus its just another piece of the puzzle in why bf/tp/ut/the core concept is so addictive. you really never know what challenges the next day will bring. anyway /side-tangent, i'll use stephans post as an example to illustrate my own

Stephan003 wrote:A lot of people who "empty" in 2-3 min's didn't start with many duels to begin with. i generally agree with this (especially the last sentence, unless they've been refilling duals and been impressive), however just a few weeks ago (actually my 2nd death on PERFECTION) i was being raided by the saddest mismatched group of general trash imaginable in the sense that they couldn't really do much right in regards to stealing fuel, timing, etc, and eventually most of them just resorted to mining by default after the first few screens. the whole raid i moved from screen to screen either diag or at right angles, and i could break darkest/2nd darkest shade, land/radar, and then either snipe the edge or scope/snipe, and they were so slow... i got off all 50 duals in like 7 or 8 screens, and i swear not a single one of the raiders probably got off 25+ and most of them just shot homers and still failed to scope properly. the raid lasted no more than a couple of minutes (if that) and i was laughing because i knew it probably looked terrible to them (like i was slow, or wasting turns not getting off shots) simply because half the raid kept interchangeably getting lost/falling behind and as individuals they probably didn't see enough to be impressed. also for whats it worth i dont even start shooting (unless its a pph tank or have been pphing) in a raid unless there are 3 raiders there, some people like to try and get off like 20 before the raid even shows up the first time..

the point here is that things can look a lot different from 1 person to the next, whether it be target/raider or raider/raider or target/random or whatever. i could have easily been more conservative, did a better scouting job for myself while i was fighting (i had the time) and dragged that on forever, but thats just not my style (at least not anymore). i aim to give you a fast-paced (and usually brief) screen to screen adventure that doesn't seem to follow any discernible pattern and lacks predictability, but i like to take risks and be bold to keep it interesting. while i see a solid percentage of players incorporating some elements of my personal puzzle into their styles, the default still seems to be 1-2 shot teleing with minimal movement post-landing and then usually some excessive filling 5 minutes in, followed by people running out of homers and the volume of long moves increasing as each fuckwit goes hive mind and starts driving to anything that can (but wont) be used.

i think a good barometer of how you're doing is the ratio between the number of shots you fired vs the number of shots the average individual raider has fired. keep this high while getting as low as you can, and you'll have an effective combination.... or you can just ease off the gas, drag it out for 20 minutes, and "improve" (loljay)

anyhow done with this mini tl;dr for now, just some food for thought

Why is the last comment a lol what's his name moment? I never once said ease off the gas.... Lol sean tho.

You say you will go harder against 7 respected players and not as had against 12 not so respected players? You should go just as hard every raid. People driving adjust to it and go hard, people per tele raping ur fuel adjust and go hard. You should never 'force' a brb because people are driving or w.e u are getting at.

I see the whole thread now though. Basically do what ever you want Hurley, u can't please everybody. I will stick to going hard and to death or low radars and you can empty and brb before shooting 5 singles.

still trying to figure out why a cheater is using the word "should"

no one said that you said ease off the gas, can't see those quotation marks around the word "improve" eh?

anyhow it's hard to take anything you say seriously.. you basically outlined your part-time approach (when you're trying to troll people into thinking you're legit or whatever).. and then you're trying to come at me for not going hard? if anything i go too hard (hence why i get killed a lot quicker but probably get off more shots/time than anyone else ever), the real difference here is that your entire viewpoint is based around appeasement and good feedback, whereas i don't really give a shit what the raiders think.. i'm trying to impress myself first and foremost, while leaving room to mirror the raids tone/antics right back at them.

also funny that you would come at me here considering that when people like you fuck up it still leads to a long raid (which is "impressive", right? :tehfunny: ), yet when i fuck up i'm usually dead on the same screen (and it looks terrible especially if its early). playing with healthy margins and taking a "long" raid is only "impressive" in how beta/bitch-mode it is. I'll always be more impressed with someone who takes major risks and leaves themselves more exposed if they screw up or one of the raiders slams them with a timely jack/mines etc over someone who "goes hard" (but is really "going vanilla") but needs like 10 minutes to empty and can recover from any mistake/impediment due to how conservative they're playing..

also, if you can't kill me in the time it takes me to empty, you probably don't deserve the kill.

Again idiot.

I'm agreeing with what you say. Empty as fast as you can. All I am adding is to continue to go hard for a while after that! I'm not calling you out or anything Sean. You always think its an argument when somebody's opinion is slightly different to yours.

Go hard, empty fast, continue to impress by lasting as long as possible/raiders break off/ low radars.

What is so fucking hard to understand? You like to go hard, then you are saying once empty you don't give a shit, you have took the raid. All I am saying is I would continue and would like others too also.

So from this thread now I have: empty your duals then you are done. I will still continue to take where others will fill.

Also, you keep calling me a cheater. You have cheated for twice as many cups I did. Probably more. I ducked a couple of raids so what lol cheater calling a cheater out. :hammertime:

honestly i'm in awe at how retarded you are, hopefully you don't get a kidney because you sure as fuck do nothing for the gene pool

if you knew how to read you would see that i mentioned continuing to shoot even after empty (earlier in the thread), and that our main disagreement is on how we get there, where we go from there, and the motive behind the mentality. if you knew how to read. you certainly are not agreeing with what i say, either that or you lack the intellectual capacity to express it... or more likely you just lack that same capacity in regards to understanding what i'm saying. i'd like this to be my last post at you on this topic since its pretty clear that you're incapable on many fronts and at this rate i'd be better served having a discussion with a mailbox

also, you have cheated for 3-5x as many cups in the last 18 months than i have ever, but we can pretend otherwise if it helps you feel better about yourself

No the disagreement is when to brb.

I said go hard as you can until u empty and continue to go as hard as you can.

I don't see where we disagree with this? Apart from you trying to cause an argument what isn't there?

what's his name has nothing to his reputation in terms of raid taking or respect in general. In bf he was a fucking noob. In utanks he was terrible and could only cup by cheating. In tankpit he was average then cheated his ass off. He's never won a gold cup legit. Or got a 99 playing legit.

He always took shitty raids too. So why is what's his name arguing at all? Terrible player thinking he has a say in anything. Its fucking hilarious lmao
