At least TankPit's downtime is due to external (hardware?) problems, not buggy code. I'm proud to say that the game ran for a few months without crashing and that our downtime is related to something beyond my control, not a personal temper tantrum by one of the developers. :dot3:

Finally. Thank you for speaking SW.

Perhaps if you or the other devs don't really care for the game...then you guys should spend your time trying to make an acquisition happen. Not sure what others are offering but it sounds like militia's offer is probably reasonable from the way he is speaking. Thanks for making all of this possible. Tankpit was loads of fun while it lasted, hope to see it up soon.

I feel like this would be a top 3 least shocking revelation in the last 9 months:

FYI - AFAIK phr33k has nothing to do with the game being down, but then again I have no clue why it is down (I can only suspect hardware problems, or the server company going under, or something like that). He discovered how to run modified code but that will always be possible, there's no way to "fix" that, only to make it increasingly harder if necessary.

It may be possible for him to take a role in continuing the running of TankPit in the future instead of making a new game, but again I can't commit to anything right now, and if he wants to add new features or take the game in a different direction then maybe it will be better to go separately. One of the main principles of TankPit so far has been to make as few changes as possible from BF, and only if we felt they addressed the core problems with the game.

Running any online game is much more demanding than people realize. It really takes dedication to make it through sometimes. I am sure you had fun while you were doing it, and that is what counts. It is hard to run a dev team in sync with eachother, and even more difficult to keep up with small aspects that devs don't care about (awards, contests, etc). A lot of people had fun playing Tankpit. Hopefully they will have fun playing it again someday. Best of luck in the future.

Congrats on success so far. Its been fun if it doesnt come back. Thanks for assisting in the development of the game over the last year and my fun. I was happe to see the original game back and the little changes you guys made where perfect. Thanks again and whatever happens with the game no hard feelings man you did or are doing what you could.

U all so dum , the reason this game is down is cuz of Ph33k FACT, a house server costs 250 plus another 50 to 100 dollars for a yearly membership , so thats like 500 dollars tops, NO REASON THIS GAME SHOULDNT BE UP BY NOW FACT, it all comes down to money or the devs dont know how to fix ph33ks speed hack fact. I DONE OFFERED 2kplus for this script, so i dont wanna hear its the server company cuz it forsure isnt fact, if u cant afford 500 dollars than u shouldnt be running this game FACT, GET IT THRU your heads the reason this game is down is because of ph33k fact, Ph33k hurry up and make the clone!

Wow. So let me get the facts straight phr33k made speed hack, now BLUNTZ is giving him orders to remake the game? All while ignoring that perhaps the game is not back up due to the potential possiblity that stats may be lost if the initial server is not brought back and calling us all "dum"? He must be going threw some mega withdrawals for him offering so much of his unemployment money. I would love to read the full clip of artillery BLUNTZ probably mailed the staff.

Actually an inhouse dedicated server costs around 250 a month for dedicated 99.99 percent uptime SLA. You can get cheap hosting for sites with extremely limited bandwidth and stuff for around 15 a month. Housing a server at your home costs about 600 to build for a game of this level and about 30 dollars in electricity. That's not including a battery backup in case it fails.

he contacted unbent when he read the post andy made about the company. They offered him the same offer they made to us. Work for free, we will sit on the profit(if there is any) and you can work for all the hours in the world on this part and this part, but you're not allowed to touch this part and this part.

We said no thanks.

SW tho... not so much. So now unbent has found how much work it takes and that its not a lucrative venture, and probably made a deal with SW so that he can now pay for hosting him self and run the entire game his self, but they still own the rights to the game.

I sure hope this is not the case because it would a waste of time for SW to do this, they could take it back any time once he breathes life back into this thing and he would have nothing.

Again i'm just speculating on all this except the very first part which I know is true since they offered it to me first.
