No one else in this community ever plays security measurement man except phr33k. There's never any issues with security until Ben shows up. What is the point? How many times do we have to lose thanks to exposing "potential risks" that no one would ever fuck with besides Ben. It's not like there was any other threat out there wanting to harm a simple nostalgic game from 1997. All this over something so stupid? I almost find it unbelievable and frustrating to say the least if true.

I am slightly annoyed on both ends from Tank Pit and phr33k. If this is the reason. Jeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzus, ALLAHU AKBAR.

Ben, upon your new release make sure you tap into uTanks as well. :evil:

Yopu can't blame phr33k for finding a leak in their game. Its their job to protect it. They must have realized that whatever security meause they had in place was not enough, therefore took the game down instead of allowing it to go the route of bf. Good choice imo.

Yes, we can. In order for him to find the leak in the game he tampered with the game. This is not something I'd warrant anyone to do regardless of their intention. It's a simple game with a small player base, why does this stuff even matter if there are no current threats? We really don't need that around here. When phr33k came back I specifically requested for him to not mess with the game. He has now done that and we are offline as a result.

Sugar coat it all you want, but facts are facts.

However, I am interested in phr33k's idea for a new game. There is no other person out there who knows more about BF/TP. I honestly think that if he was given the reigns he would be able to be effective with the right support from the community. Him not having the reigns hasn't had the greatest outcomes, but I really do see the game the way phr33k sees it. While many of you probably have different opinions....I think when everyone was on bf-x5 it was the funnest the game could possibly be. This version of battlefield in a browser on a completely level playing field...would be pretty sick imo. I think if phr33k is in control, he needs some help though. At least somebody who can help him make effective decisions.

The longer the tankpit developers keep us in the dark about all of this, the more interested I grow in phr33k's idea. I would like to firmly state that my current interest lies in tankpit. If it came back soon I would play.

To many variables. Id like to say tankpit but what if everyone moves over to phr33kpit and decides thats the better game. I wont be playing tankpit if I am the only one in. Who knows what the future holds. Tankpit has done an excellent job thus far keeping the game very original with only minor changes for improvement. Even security thus far has been superior. The only thing that ever disappointing with tankpit was its lack of hammer towards cheaters.

I siimply told them their security measures werent good enough, told them why,how. Also recommended a simple fix

If TP was up I wouldn't consider remaking the game. I actually enjoy bf and I simply want to play it. If I have to invest a month into making a working server to play bf then that's what ill do

VK, when did I ever say that deleting playbf tanks was for the greater good of the game? I've gone on record saying it was a mistake and done out of impulse due to a ridiculous response from bonus.

If tankpit would respond to it's players we wouldn't all be pointing fingers. They could simply tell us what happened be it security issues or server or whatever. A simple response with maybe a timeframe for being down would take alot of us off edge. All they can say is the game will be back eventually and a month later they don't respond at all. Starting to doubt it will even be back, i would rather have an active member of the community that won't keep us guessing. As far as Ben if he runs it there wont be anyone to hack it lol besides sun wolf. Though im upset i can't play bf atm i'm kinda glad i came back when i did because if i would have had a bunch of nice awards like weekend i would be pissed off right about now.

Believe it or not im not really upset at all. The only thing in the game i didnt achieve that i wanted was getting my rusty. If anything thats probably the only reason im slightly annoyed about the game being gone. If it comes back up i may or not be playing, if anything to get my rusty and be out, but if its gone for good i wont lose sleep over it. This games taken too much time out of my life with my past vendettas with it, but since its been gone ive gone back to my usual lifestyle of no gaming at all, and things have been looking up for me haha, i never got to cup, win awards, or be placed highly ranked or been on any solid fun teams in battlefield, i managed to do all that in the short time that TP was up so i feel like ive accomplished all i wanted to in BF except getting a rusty. I was gonna retire after that anyways.

Hey guys,

I'm going to come out and say I am a significant member of the TankPit dev team. I'm really sorry that the game vanished but frankly the other devs are not very active and I don't have full access to everything (we divided the control between us). The game basically ran itself for months at a time, so when it suddenly disappeared we weren't prepared for that. Last I heard from the guy who has the hosting account, the hosting company wasn't replying to our service requests (1-2 weeks ago). I think that means data might be lost if we have to host it elsewhere, depending when the last back up was (I have one from a few months ago...), but I never got a response about that question yet.

I know that TankPit is important to you guys but unfortunately it's not too important to me, and much less so for the other members of the dev team who aren't part of this community at all. I wish I could restart the server or whatever is wrong, but it's beyond my access/power, so I just have to let it slide for now. Maybe it will come back, but at this point things are uncertain. Apologies that I'm really quite busy and not able to dedicate enough time to TankPit (ie. updates, giving out awards) which is only a small pastime for me. Last year I was unemployed and had no life, but now everything has changed.

Apart from that... I really enjoyed making and running TankPit and you're all welcome for your awards and the fun times that were had. 8-)

Before anyone messages me about selling the game or handing over control, I will say I am a bit skeptical that this can happen right now, for instance I need to restore communication with the other devs, and I need to find some more free time. It is certainly an option, but there are obstacles....
