I doubt it will be up for long. They've been putting old maps up for like a few hours between new maps that have been running for about 2 days.

Isee, Isee. :). Crazy Waters should be coming up soon since the tourney is Wednesday. Hope it's fun and they have all the ferries in the big water.

One would only hope so... I had some time to sit down and play today. I was excited to get some points in until I saw it was iceland. Went in there and died twice. Insuff and then I forgot to toggle armors. Said screw it. They can delete that map, I'm certain nobody would miss it..

Anyone else notice the pattern?

After Levels, the map was castles.

After badlands, the map was iceland.

After foundry, the map was castles.

After Canada, the map is iceland.

Coincidence?

Maybe they're planning on removing castles and iceland, and are deciding which map to replace it with by seeing which generate the most activity (and if they'd generate more activity then the original maps)

I'd love to see Canada replace iceland and Foundry replace castles (I'd also like to see Level get in main rotation as well)

I wonder if they will do the same with other original maps, maybe find a replacement for apps and deep 6. Realistically Levels should replace maze, but I enjoy maze and don't see it getting canned from the rotation.

What are you talking about? Ice should stay. Apps and Castles should be removed.

Ice was the perfect water map. Once you got over expecting 4000 fuel every screen, it was easily the most fun in BF: you could have fun and expect kills in anything from a 1v1 to a 6v1.

I think they put ice back up to let players compare canada to iceland more directly. I think both maps should be permanent.

So far I'm down with keeping the original 6, axing deep six again, axe badlands, quick sand & blast zone. Work levels, foundry, and canada into rotation. I think by the end we'll have over 10 playable maps, at which point I feel as though the best ones should rotate for regular play and the lesser maps should feature in the occasional tournament.

1)Foundry

2)Desert
2)Levels

3)Iceland
3)Canada
3)Rox
3)Castles

4)Maze
4)Apps

From best to worst although I see little difference in quality for several of these maps. Still 9 more to trial.

I'm forced to agree, Apps just doesn't bring the activity it deserves in my opinion. It's fun when it's active but players don't have the patience. I think they want to insert maps based on activity; Foundry, Levels, The Pit which is rocks on roids. All maps that create activity should be in the rotation. Having said that I'm going to have to adjust my ratings again.

No, but from a dev perspective, I would have to do what's best for the game, not my own personal preference.

kyles globe map should replace apps

foundry over castles

levels over maze

atelos iceleaf map over iceland

the pit over rox

egypt over desert

The crazy part is there are more solid maps still left over. It's gonna be a headache for them deciding what should stay and what should go. Personally I see no harm in having 15 permanent maps. Each would have 2 days per month and approximately 1 tourney every other month. That'd keep things fresh.

If the game does grow bigger, there might be room to open more maps up like battlefield, not just rotating them all the time. And I would like to play atelos ice map first before I judge it, since it only seems to be 2 ice maps to trial. Personally, im iffy on the design of whatever those things are..

they're suppose to be elements, ice, wind, fire, earth haha. They're basically little lakes, shouldnt make a huge difference. It should be pretty navigable though, hopefully.

nothing wrong with it I just don't like the actual design of the map.
