You guys should have picked better names
This is a great theme, but I'm disappointing in some of the element names that you guys have chosen. Why? Well, you guys skipped a number of the more useful and ubiquitous elements in favor of ones that might sound a bit cooler.
Lets start with some of the gasses:
1. I don't know why somebody would pick Arsenic over Phosphorous. They are in the same group, and While As is pretty useless, P is the backbone for DNA and is vital to all living organisms on this planet. Ever hear of something called ATP, the primary source of energy in the body? In fact, there is a bit of controversy in the As vs P issue, since a recent publication in Nature suggests that it may be possible to grow life in an Arsenic rich environment. Of course, this study has brought up great concerns due to the half-life of the As-O bond and will likely be refuted in the next few months, but i digress....
2. Xenon and Krypton....Ok so 2 people decided to pick noble gasses...Yes it's cool and all that they are stable at RT, but come on lets get real, their physical properties are useless. Why not pick something chemically useful like F or Cl. Lets say you insist on having a noble gas...Ok, some parts of me understands that, but then why not go with Argon? Argon is extremely useful in creating an inert environment for chemical reactions.....but Xenon and Krypton..come on.
Then we have the metals.
Dubnium, Sumarium, Plutonium, Uranium....All right so clearly you guys like seeing shit blow up...Flashy yes, but boring chemistry going on with Plutonium and Uranium...In fact we get Plutonium by enriching Uranium...so come on. And then Dubnium and Sumarium...big wtf from me on these 2 with Dubnium being pretty much BS. And if you really wanted to pick an explosive element, why not pick something like Francium, Cesium, Rb, Sodium, or Potassium? Just youtube one of thse elements to see what i'm talking about;.
For metals, why not go with something crucial to all biological life like Magnesium or Manganese. If you prefer inorganic, how about Palladium or Copper? Then there are the precious metals..nobody takes gold or silver? Yikes.
Anyway, props to the person who chose Radon..while not very useful, i'm taking that selection as a shout-out to Marie Curie. Also, I will assume that Hydrogen and Carbon are the two leaders of the team (both good choices) and hopefully the first 2 chosen.
The next time you add somebody, please check in with me to make sure nobody is embarrassing themselves...If i'm not available here is a good list of sure-fire choices:
Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Copper, Boron, F, Cl, Br, Mercury, Iron (can't believe nobody picked this one).
You're Welcome

I see we have someone who majored in chemistry, and now he thinks he is a chemist. Uranium was used in the atomic bombs in WWII, basically everything. Enriching Uranium made Plutonium, eh? As this is true, butit is also sooooo broad. Please give me the type of particle used. inb4 he has to look it up lols.
I remember you, I think. I remember you saying you studied chem, if you are the old dabomb.
Where you orga, physical, or gen?
What field did you choose?
I myself have stuck with Bio Genetics, but I always respect another important scientific field.
Carbon - Need I say more?
Nitrogen- Nitrogen Cycle.
Uranium - WWII
Dubnium- chosen because he is "cdub"
Silicon- Wouldn't it be neat if Si was the genetic makeup of another species on a different planet?
Plutonium - I'll give you that, haha.
Arsenic- Actually, we are finding more and more about Arsenic everyday. It could be used for heinous crimes...
Titanium- ...
Radon- I like how you mention Curie, quite a break through, and in some sense a martyr minus the (stereotypical) religious affiliation. Too bad she was dead by the Nobel peace prize.
Mercury- One you say someone should have picked, but you talk bad about Arsenic...? Also, someone did take it.
Iron- another one that was picked shortly.
I thoroughly enjoyed what you wasted time writing. As I have been bored out of school this gave me a good read. Please, continue.

I'm getting a Ph.D in chem at a school somewhere in New Jersey. It's Chem-bio, but i'd say i'm bio-organic. Does that make me a chemist? And i didn't say anything bad about carbon, nitrogon, silicon (why didn't you mention silicon valley...and why wouldn't the genetic makeup of aliens just be carbon based as well....You can't really do any of the useful chemistry that we see throughout biological system with silicon...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypothetic ... ochemistry?), or titanium.
The difference between Mercury and Arsenic is that Mercury has a bunch of cool uses in its native state (thermometers/bubblers/pressure readings, etc) and is also quite useful albeit dangerous synthetically. Arsenic you'll see labelled as a toxin, but really won't find in a lab. And like i said...Uranium can make a nice bomb, but was a poor choice compared to some of the options available.
And if some of my suggestions are taken, you need to post an updated roster, which i will gladly critique and then update my list accordingly.

What do you plan on going into post grad? Biochem is a fascinating field. If you are doc'ing I'll say chemist
I could have said Silicon Valley, but what's to say that separate systems use the same root?
All things usually come back to one sole root, but haven't we had enough time to evolve? Carbon is the majority of the body, but could be substituted based on properties of likeness. If Silicon could be manipulated for personal gain. It would be extremely useful to be in that field, haha, talking about billions/trillions. I think most of the choices where neat.
Oh and when you said check the bb, I was like wtf did he post on here. Finally, I found my way here. Arsenic isn't found in labs mainly due to the toxins, but like I said it's applications would be more heinous than useful(helping).

I really don't want to get into some discussion about the possibility of alien life, since it doesn't matter (We won't be visited by ET in our lifetime)...But u can take my word for it or read the wiki page i posted. Basically, Carbon is much more abundant in the universe because of it's lower molecular weight, and although Si is in the same group and has similar properties, they can't be substituted like you suggested (Think about their differences in size as an easy explanation for this). Yes, there is some similar reactivity, but subbing Si for C is just science fiction.
And i'm not sure yet what i'll be doing post-grad..I have time to decide, and it depends on how successful I am as a grad student. I'm in a fairly high profile lab, so if everything goes well, I could get a nice post-doc position and then prof offer. If the pharmaceutical industry starts to look better, maybe i will go into that....We'll see...but mainly i'm more worried about some of the tank choices that are being selected on your team.

So from an educational standpoint....haters gonna hate? You mean to tell me, I made a poor name choice because of its definition and or origin, for a 2 dimensional tank in a game? To which its sole purpose is for my entertainment? Please enlighten me a little, on what it means to be da bomb, clearly there is something hidden that I am missing from your name....

No, i'm not talking about regular tanks...Just theme ones. If the theme is going to be the Elements, you guys should pick the best elements first...duh. Think about it like this...If the theme is superheroes, would you expect superman/batman to be picked last? And Titanium is an OK choice..notice i didn't mention that i had a problem with it in the OP. It wouldn't be my preference, but i could understand why somebody would want Ti. Like i said, i'm just looking out for your team, and you're welcome.

I see your point in all this, but you're failing to see mine, why put so much emphasis on the names by definition? To me it sounds like you're trying to emphasis how retarded some names are, only to mirror a similar theme already done by AoW by making their name fit the personality etc. of each of their members. To each their own, but to me this seems unoriginal. Then again, neither is our team name, but to mention the idea of finding the best possible element for each member was already done by the original Elements in BF. In all honesty, i seek originality from all this, not to duplicate an already used up theme by intentionally making tanks with the best possible name ever. For example, some fool decides to make tank called BASEDGOD....who has the mindset of a champion by calling himself the 'Michael Jordan of Tankpit', but then plays like a two year old whose throwing tantrums after losing a toy. 1 shot teleport, repeat until you get tired of clicking or remotely losing a fraction of health more than you intended. To which in his/her case(since gender is pretty much unknown) is turning 1 shade too dark as he never tries to go passed the first. I see no harm in choosing an element that has no scientific or chemical value whatsoever, as this is just for Tankpit, and you will relate bad name choices to beastly players, regardless to the definition to which they hold. Call it bad science if you want to, but you will respect it.

Hey, i get some of you guys wanted to pick a random one, and by observing how you play u can tell who are the better players, but I just wanted to try to avoid any future embarrassment from poor name choice. If i come into the map, and see a bunch of the random elements raiding, I won't be nearly as impressed as if i saw Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Iron, Palladium, Copper, Magnesium, Oxygen, etc. Anyway, it's probably too late for the guys already on the team, but I think it would be wise to seek my opinion before adding somebody else. Also, could u please stop saying definition? These aren't words, they're atoms.
Also I just wanted to emphasize: This is the best theme that I have ever seen in battlefield. I just take issue with some of the name choices and have suggestions for future ones.

I get the feeling dabomb wants to join this team lol haha j/k really...
I chose Krypton because my thinking was more down the Sci-Fi line of reasoning...hence, it would have Extra-terrestrial influence on people and the environment. [Insert reference to Superman & Smallville] In case you didn't know, when humans are exposed to radioactive Kryptonite they change genetically and most of them develop some kind of super power. Others just die
This theme I chose also picks up an automatic Rival/Nemesis with another tank from another team (The same Superman from Comics) and due to recent developments, that tank is dead and mine is still living.
Still think my name choice was poor?

Yes. You really couldn't have picked a more boring element. Why not Palladium, who's catalytic ability seems like it could be in science fiction? Or magnesium, both useful synthetically and present throughout all life http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnesium. As far as what causes somebody to change genetically, well, everyone knows that oxygen radical is the main culprut for that, but it was already taken!

Well, from my viewpoint, Carbon and Hydrogen are obviously the two best ones. I'd say an argument could be made for oxygen or nitrogen as well though. Those were all smartly taken, though. If you're more of an inorganic person you might prefer something like palladium or zinc. If i had to pick one, though, I'm going with Carbon. Of what's left..Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium, Palladium, Calcium are all good choices with Mg being the first off the board (you need to update your roster to show that Fe is taken).

Yeah, I was on perfs in their 2nd go around at the end...Not an original. I forget which one I was. Was also on Aliens, Ops, warriors, juices, but keep in mind BF was practically dead at this point, so they were taking anybody, and people weren't very active.
Anyway, I had fast internet then....no more...And at school i use a mac, which really runs the game slow.
I really hope this guide has been helpful for you guys. I was very happy to see a team with this team and had to give my thoughts. Let me know if you want to start a team with the theme of Nobel Laureate, and I will gladly weigh in for that as well.
