The HTML5 client port is coming along nicely, will probably be available online for testing in not too long from now (weeks?).
Once this is eventually finished, things are going to look much brighter for TP. No problems installing Java, stupid warnings messages every time load game, half of guest tanks not even making it into the game, problems assigning game hotkeys, etc. Not to mention all the possibilities it opens for new interfaces, better website integration, mobile support, etc. Excited just thinking about it.

mad props sw. I'm kind of holding out for the HTML5 client, I'm having to many problems with java, even on my new machine. I guess you'll be doing an open testing period? Let everybody get involved so things can be ironed out more quickly?

Didn't I read something about the radaring being 'corrected' so the screen updates after the radar animation finishes? I think that's a mistake, the game definitely feels a lot more responsive when that information is immediately available

I noticed something wrong with the radar ... it will complete THEN the eq/fuel will show. This is like a move delay, people already land and mine before my radar goes off. If this is to promote people to stop taking raids then GJ, I doubt that was the idea behind it though.
It was fine how it was, maybe work should be done on the raid taker seeing homing shots faster than the raiders? It seems the raiders can shoot homing's and land before some of us watch the last homer hit.

Yeah, I feel it will be a huge nerf to raid taking to not know where the cans are and how big they are until the end of the turn. Just that extra split second helps you plan your next move

If the idea was to make it more realistic ... stop ... teleporting tanks.... lets keep it as a game lol

I think it was a glitch to show fuels before the actual radar. This is more obvious in the HTML client as the radar graphic is often skipped entirely in the Java client. I will think about this in terms of game play....

I pointed out this 'glitch', but I must say, having the eq and fuel pop up before the radar actually spins around was a lot better. It was more responsive and faster. I would change it back to the old way for sure.

Wouldn't the eq/fuel appear as the radar was going off, not before or after? SW will do the right thing though if he thinks about this in terms of game play. It appearing after the radar just delays a raid taker even more although this would be perfect to slow down some of the super fast players. I'd much rather have it the way it was been a slower player myself.

I thought it was lag on my part but fuel cells and equipment would pop up after the radar scan was completed and not during like it was before.

Graphics work, game works, lobby works. Sound works on FF/Chrome, but IE doesn't support it. IE also doesn't seem to support scaling images without interpolation, so the game is blurry on it (using IE11, haven't tested any older versions). Sound seems to crash the game on iPad (Chrome & Safari) but it does actually play - it just crashes when it tries to stop playing, so there may be hope. Can't click and hold on these devices, so a different method will be required for grabbing things.
TODO: Graphics for awards when you mouse over tanks, new hotkey settings as java hotkeys don't map to javascript ones, few various graphical bugs, *game size scaling*.
The latter will be nasty and delay things a little longer.
Also, will need to assess performance by playing it live. If it's too laggy, will need to implement some adjustments to smooth over lag. I'm hoping to try an upcoming tournament using the new client.
