Cross Walk Calvin and AmAZN both deserve to go down as legends for their leadership on those historic teams

CWC was a beast raid taker. Bluefire led the safeties until TRO ran him off. Sammy always raided with like 7+... whatever.

Steve doesn't even come here anymore or play bf, so you're at no risk of inflating his ego
question: in stud's list, who's "Brian the older guy"? =\

The coolest part of this list is that I befriended 7 of the people on it and only one ever talked like he was anything special.
Mike being by far the funniest, phish the ezpk on dtt, marine rob whose pph I believed unbelievable when I played bigwolf, jdk who I only saw in the latter days, timmy who was just a funny guy, steve who I got to know very well over bfelite..
And puppetmaster who was moderately proud but that, I believe, can be misinterpeted from shyness.
But I've always believed that people pick the oldest players they've become or became friends with as "legends." The people who played when they were new to the game. That's why the new players who've been around for 2ish years look to people like me, because they don't have the comparative advantage of knowing who came before (or at the least, not comprehending the comparison between me and the older generation.) And older players are typically biased toward the older players, even though they do have the benefit of the comparison. They just tend to lean toward the people they've known longer.
For instance, if I were to list "legends" to me, and take heed to the fact that legend is a relative term and is different for everybody, I would say people such as Cross-Walk Calvin, rider, and the first 6 I mentioned in reference to stud's post.
For the record, AmA-Z-N created one of the most successful teams, one of the most appealing rosters and most sought-after teams (everybody wanted to be an AZN or wanted to be the guy that destroyed their raid over and over again,) and one of the most devoted rosters in the history of the game. But respect my ability to denounce him as a "legend." He himself will go down in my memories as a man who made others great, not himself. He was not great. Noble-esque as it may sound, he was a coward on the playing field.
JTA was a good player, solid in most aspects of the game, and an entertaining person to talk to. I do not consider him a legend because of the fact that he did not excel at anything and he did not re-invent anything, as in he did not take anyone else's style and perfect it. He was a solid, consistent player who deserves not to be judged against the game's best.
Finally, Blue Fire was a joke and is the reason the game has become less entertaining. There is a natural food chain in battlefield- The great's, the good's, the average's, the bad but trying's, the bad but new's, the bad with no hope's, and the cheater's. Discrediting the cheaters, we start at the bad players who had no hope of getting better but still played anyways. These players are the ones who perennially remain at captain, low quitting because they don't know better. They are the ones who built many fuel bases (long before I did it to waste time,) in order to protect themselves. They are the ones who locked every ferry in a lake except one so they had a runaway, moving every other obstacle away from the lake so people had to go on a discovery mission if they wanted to uncover a ferry.
Blue Fire, in his selfish greed, deleted almost every single obstacle in Castles, then taught others how to do it. He did it, as I remember, in order to get a DOT via blackmail from BFHQ. He was a scumbag who ruined the natural order of the game. Without obstacles, the bad players had no way to entertain themselves. They didn't get enjoyment out of fighting and raiding, but from the lighter side of the game. They eventually left the game, and the food chain in turn suffered.
He was a liar and a cheater, not a legend.

the only person on my list that i thought was alittle conceited was mjk...however the only time i talked to him was when i was in my noob days...everyone else on that list was cool as hell, and were damn good...one person on that list that really stuck out to me was turkey...for some reason i remember him getting flamed in a dtt chat or something, yet he never returned it...one of the nicest guys ive ever talked to...i believe he is/was in iraq on duty...only talked to him once or twice but he was a good player and an even better person...
now tim, we only live like 45 mins from each other...always wants me to go clubbing with him, but would never pay for my gas to come to the Lou...
