auto distributing to even in game colors
Just an idea ive been pondering for a minute. The first thing I do when I open tankpit is check to see the numbers. Call me a bitch or whatever, but I no longer enjoy the idea of taking massive mobs for da rep and spend most of my time filling equipment and chasing higher ranks who dont want to fight. Its a part of the game, and I understand without the people who enter against the one sided mobs nothing would happen to stay the mob. So props to them. But what if there were never one sided mobs? What if the game always had even numbers, whether its 1, 1, 1, 1, or 25, 25, 25, 25.
Is this something that youd prefer? The idea is that, the game would auto chose your color upon entering to the weakest color, and redistributed you again to the weakest color during gameplay if numbers decrease. A counter would be put in place, say 5 minutes, upon leaving, before your vacated color opening is filled, to allow someone to go to the bathroom or grab a drink or whatever and re enter without being switched to another color.
Theres alot of pros, and a few cons of the idea.
The pros:
Never one sided mobs.
Always even numbers to induce fair, balanced and enjoyable battles. Mobs still form, considering any one color can potentially have 3 other colors on them. Of course, mobs are prevented much more often giving the fact that theres an equal number of players to counter.
Never worry about having no one to fight, If only 2 people enter, theyre guaranteed to be opposite colors of each other.
Eliminate organized teams. No longer being able to come into a map mob deep, considering your players will be split into 4 different colors. Of course, organized mobs can still happen, but its much more restrictive and prone to counter.
Now able to fight with and against every player in the game. No longer do you have to standby and watch warrior use all the fuel in the map owning a 12 man raid, or watch as kyle gets some ham pph while your forced to be the third wheel. You can now own warrior yourself or pph beast with kyle like anyone else.
cons:
eliminates the essence of teams (sorta) and only a con if youre really into that mob mentality.
may become confusing, being changed to a different team every 5 minutes after someone exits.
changes the dynamic/history/nostalgia of the game in favor for a more fast paced enjoyable environment.
Details:
Ive spoken with sw about this, and its 100% possible. My idea, is that on the tanks page, under the edit section, you can chose the main color of the tank. This is to ensure that you are always the same color, whether you get changed in map or not. If anyones played poker theyd understand the concept is similar to picking your own seat while playing online.
Heres a diagram to show what I mean.

essentially, were getting rid of organizing tanks by their color considering people specifically get certain awards to match their color/dislike of other colors/etc. This idea would allow everyone to pick what color they want their tank to show to them.
So instead we organize the 4 teams via number. 1, 2, 3, 4,. In my example, team 1s base color is orange, team 2s base color is red, teams 3s purple and team 4 blue. So by default, these are the colors youd be shown as depending what team youre currently on. So if you were to set your tanks color to always be shown as blue, and you entered the map and were placed onto team 3, imagine rotating the inner circle clockwise until blue is lined up with the number 3.

so simple enough, with a system like this youd have the option to always appear, to yourself, as whatever color you want no matter how often youre getting switched teams. Other people will see you as whatever color depending on your team and their color preference.
If this were to be implemented id suggest a 5-10 minute grace before moving redistributing the teams. This means that, say someone were to quit out of the map, it would take 5-10 minutes before the teams were re organized, allowing someone else to come and fill the void, or the player to return.
The only time colors would really need to be redistributed is in the cases when the map gets flooded with players for a brief period, and soon lots of players quit. This could potentially leave the colors looking 9, 18, 12, 10. in this case, everyone entering would be distributed to the lowest numbered teams and if after 10 minutes the numbers dont even, the system would auto place everyone.
Again it gives a good chance to switch up your team mates and targets, allows you to always ensure you have some form of backup and keeps the game consistent rather than full of variables.
