Alerts...

Should set up some sort of alert system when there is a lot of activity. A lot of us have said we wished we would have known how active a map was so we could have joined.

Perhaps a text or email alert is received when one or multiple colors reach a certain player level, or total player level in game. It'd be neat to see an app developed where when opened and linked to your account, you see current map, and numbers of each players in.

Also if you could create a friends list, and this app would show you which of your friends were ingame, online, or offline.

I think this is a great idea. especially if you can set it to your phone or something. Maybe to be notified if more than 15 people are in the map.

I think it's a good idea too, but why is it necessary?

if you're available to play, then just play. lol activity will breed activity. that's why there's a thing on the front page now.
you don't have to play "only" when other people are playing. if that was what everyone did, then nobody would play because everyone would just be sitting there waiting for other people to go in that are just doing the same shit you're doing.
like a group of people sitting by a pool or lake or something waiting for the first person to go in, everyone will just be standing there not swimming when they want to swim -shrugs- just jump in and swim and everyone else will join you eventually lol

+what if there's 15 people in and it alerts your phone, then someone leaves and comes back in, will you just keep getting spammed with alerts every single time someone leaves and comes in so the number fluctuates between 14 and 15? that would get annoying really fast. even if you're playing, your phone would just start blowing up n shit




tankpit needs to be hosted on other gaming sites to blow up to where everyone wants it to be at. battlefield expanded via headlining bonus.com, runescape got a big player base hosted by miniclip.com, lots of these java grinding games started because they were put out there and advertised/hosted on other 8-bit late 90s early 2000s games websites. there still are plenty of those kicking around for those who love them. just reach out to them to host tankpit. this game will never grow until it leeches off of another website, it can't grow if it relies on a 15 year old community of people who played the original version begging eachother to stay active for activity's sake... battlefield was a bonus.com game for a few years and acquired a large playerbase first BEFORE it moved to it's own personal domain name. so it had not only years of the players who stuck around, but years of a large flow of traffic because it headlined a bunch of other games. tankpit started off the bat with a personal domain name and nothing else to bring interest to the site, nobody will find us like that. it needs to be advertised the same way the original did to be as successful as the original was. this is why appaloosa whatever was successful at getting consistent new players, and tankpit is failing to attract anyone new outside of returning original players who happen to google it and stumble across us.

noobs will find the game via other games, figure out how it works, form their own teams, and a new generation of players will surge the maps and constant activity will arise(the exact same way we all got our own starts).
we can't rely on our small community for activity. sunwolf has to expand to new people (mostly little kids like we all were). once this happens ideas like this won't matter cause there will be constant activity around the clock. as proven by the desert and rocks and swamps of battlefield.
