Option to retire tanks
What do you think of this idea to solve the problem of cluttered top 25 with inactive tanks?
People have the option to retire tanks, which is a irreversible process. It involves the following steps:
1. The tank is displayed in the "Hall of Fame" section of the tankpit website with the rank of general, the true ranking #, and all the awards along with number of each tournament cups.
2. The tank is forever deleted from the records and will no longer be playable.

yeah gotta say the idea could be interesting but definitely needs better execution. who would ever retire a tank and essentially lose everything they earned. Unless this hall of fame was also a top leaderboard list, so the tank with the most points who retired would be displayed as #1, with the tank with the second most points who retired shown as #2 etc. most players who are deep on the top 25 would never do this because their accomplishments will be shown, but someone far up on the list this could be a legit option to stay recognized.
Id also make the suggestion that only the main color of the tank be retired, and all other colors remain playable. nobody would want to completely give away their shit.

Well a lot of the tanks have not been played for a long time. Would they rather have it just decay down the rankings over time or would they rather have it forever remembered at the peak #? For example I have not seen half the people in the top 5 in a LONG while. They'll all be passed eventually. Why not commemorate their achievements and take them out of the game? It's a glorious way for people to go out and maybe start a new tank.

terrible idea. these tanks are part of the game's history and deserve their place in it's history. overtake history to secure your own.
just an excuse to move people that are ahead of you out of your way so you don't have to put in the work to pass them.
never let the hardest workers of the game ever be forgotten or passed by those who don't put in as much work.

Leaving a tank in as general and never playing again is the same as retiring a tank. if only one new leaderboard is ever implemented in Tankpit, it needs to be a weekly one. if it's anything else then it's jsut a retarded decision by the TP devs.
mz - in order for maximus nostalgia/minimal differences from tankpit and BF, this wouldn't work. imo the best days BF saw were in 2005 and beyond seeing all the top 25s filled with rusty swords.

In response to OP. So if I were to retire a tank with rusty sword, and be #1. Then 25 other people with slightly higher points then me retire tanks. Not only am I bumped out of top 25 hall of fame, but my tank is unplayable. That's what I got from it anyways. I like some of the idea, but deff the part about not being able to play your tank again that I don't like. Unless of course it were to be a top 100 list, or just a never ending list. Peace, Love, and hippie grease.

Actually the hall of fame I was envisioning would not be ranked among each other. So if you retire a tank with rusty sword and be #1, then you're forever in the hall of fame as #1 with a specific date of retirement. If somebody else retire their tank, they have no effect on you. They could also retired as #1 and you would both be listed as #1 in the hall of fame with different dates. Now in your current position if you don't retire, you're going to be passed at some point by future players unless of course, you plan to play this game intensely forever.
