map difficulty rating

we all know its easier to play in desert then it is in ice. desert would receive a rating of 1, while ice would be rated a 3. the consideration is the amount of water in the map most likely. the more dry spots a map seems to have, the higher the difficulty rating. a map such as the nile or tron would have a rating of 2. maybe even have the rating scale go up to 4 or 5, if we really wanted to go in depth with this.

these ratings would undoubtedly be subjective -- which in turn would make them useless -- because not every single player in this game shares the same sentiments pertaining to the difficulty of specific maps, and establishing official difficulty levels for each map based on some type of vague general consensus reached by a handful of individuals would be misleading and unprofessional.

have a nice day.

fuel in water =/= dry map. not to mention, every map has the same amount of fuel, unless of course, john silver woke up one day and decided that consistency is no longer a pillar which the dynamic of game-play is going to rally around.

i see you've already doled out ratings for desert and iceland based on your own successes and failures in both of those maps. not surprisingly, you managed to overlook the notion that it is significantly easier to survive in iceland against 5 people by cruising around on a ferry than it is in open field in desert.

i'm curious, do your rankings take into account different playing styles and about 200 other variables that would make any type of rankings system futile?

water is not a main element to play in. when a map has excess, the difficulty increases for the sole purpose of being forced to play in two elements of the field. your point is invalid about my failures and successes because of the amount of time i have played in this game. i have seen many victories and many failures. this is an effort to aid in a new playerbase using the ratings. the player's experience especially when neutral learns much. taking into consideration the overall dynamic of tankpit and what transpires on the field Iceland is a much difficult map to play in for new players. even if a player tried to survive on a ferry against 5 players, it only takes getting trapped once to die.

do you know what the odds of trapping someone on a ferry in open water are? somewhere between improbable and impossible.

you havnt played much then with people who know how to use obbys then.i know of a few players that could be teamed up for a 4v1 and destroy someone in the water.
