About armour shields

I remember when the site used to say that a shield was supposed to block one shot of a duel and that the other shot hits the fuel. Did this ever happen? Would it be better than two shields against every duel?

I don't know about that but. I do believe at one time it had an Esc option where when your fuel got to a certain level, pretty low you could hit Esc and get an instant random tele to another part of the map

This used to be way, way back in the day. You could actually die with shields turned on. It doesn't happen anymore though, thank God. Not sure why it says that on the site.
