Equipment that obfuscates tank colour on map
Could be equipment, or some sort of special ability that can't be activated often.
Say it's a rare piece of equipment that you can only hold 5 of, and when you activate it it changes your colour to a random one on the map screen for 10 seconds. This could add much needed complexity to raids; giving the raidee a chance to gather fuel/equipment/defences whilst the raiders searched to find them. Perhaps it could come with a drawback - like your teleports using 1.5x as much fuel whilst it's active.
Let's be honest, the core gameplay - raids - needs more depth for this game to last the test of time.

The entire game needs more depth. It's practically the exact same game from when I played on bonus.com. I think the game needs to be experimented with, with different game aspects being tampered with to see what does and doesn't work, a beta testing of sorts. Though, I'm not the one writing the code, nor do I have the faintest idea as to how to. Much easier said than done I imagine.

The only thing is, is that you can still see their name when you hover over a tank. Yes it would probably be confusing when first implemented into the game, but people would eventualy get used to it and just scan every tank in the near proximity and find your tank rather quickly, to at which point they could easily just "Help, enemy!" to the new location. To kind of brain-storm off your idea, (and what I think you were probably getting to) is maybe something like a radar jammer, let's say after you radar the screen, every so often you'll get a rare equipment box (shown below) that gives you 1-2 radar jammers (you can hold, let's say, 6 at General, 5 at Colonel, 4 at Major, etc.) and what they do is, you use one [hotkey: 6] and every person who has shot at your tank in the last 30 seconds now has their map jammed, making your location -obfuscated- (:P). For example, let's say you use one of these jammers, perhaps your tank shows up on the map in a different spot than it really is (let's say somebody hovers over a blue dot and it shows you're there - but in fact, you're at a different location quickly gathering EQ/fuel).
Here's a quick sketch, for lack of better word, that I just I jumbled up:

Though there is also the risk of newbs abusing it to marathon across the map even harder than they already do. And for guys who can already destroy 7-8 man raids it would make them even harder to take down - it's a peculiar idea for sure.

It could be quite fun actually. Even if it supports someone running or whatever you might look at as "terrible behavior" its still not against any rules to marathon and such. And if the equipment is rare enough and limited enough, they will only be able to run so far/long.
If a random color is out of the question how about just taking their blip off the map for 3-5 seconds? Im unsure on time considering I dont really play to know game speeds exactly but enough time for someone to land down and radar, possibly scoop up 1 box or fuel (so a tele, radar, 1 move) would be like a desperation move to live, but not too long to stock up and undo everything done in the raid. If the random color thing happens and its a bunch of oranges raiding a red and theres no one else in it does nothing unless it makes them orange lol. Or if theres no purples in and it makes you purple etc. So if it is for a color swap, how about making it show you as whatever color in the map has the most active players? And if theres a tie it picks one randomly (unless youre a part a color in the tie, then theres only one option anyway)
