The problem is that the game requires newbies and a diversity of play styles. When everyone is an expert, everyone knows the best strategies, and everyone is in communication, it's very hard to get legitimate kills... it's all either free kills or mobbing/raiding.

I'm not exactly sure how a chat would impact the game, but I'm skeptical that it would be beneficial and I know full well that it would be abused.

Chat was fine for BF-X5 because only a small portion of the players used it (this community). But the truth is that this community alone is not enough to make the game work. It's actually more like a cancer on the overall balance of the game because it's so large and dominating that it doesn't give the occasional newbie a chance to breath or coexist.

I'll also mention that the BF-X5 chat was usually dead or used by people who weren't actually playing, so I'm not sure that it's was overly useful or encouraged activity.

Well how about a registered team chat? a team is formed, the tanks are registered to the team, and only those tanks are in chat. must be playing tank to use the chat. or chat by color... Some sort of heavily moderated private message or chat system should be inplemented.

I suppose it wouldnt matter if jordan's idea was put into play tho...
