Jordan and I spent a few hours working on these tiles so far, They are far from done, Lots of fixes to do. But they are looking pretty sweet so far!

Like the pirate bay tiles a lot. IMHO, the tanks need to be changed to mini pirates tho.

its funny, this started out as kyle asking me if i could change his equipment to something he found on google. I told him i dont want to just rip something even if its only for his use, so i said ill make it instead. one thing led to another and now I have every thing in the tile set altered and just need to piece the final set together. If I can change the tank sprites as well as the explosion/driving/shooting sprites thatd be awesome. Ill be able to completely make a separate version of the game lol.

Yeah you can get the Mario sprites on-line. But we wouldn't want to use someone else's sprites. You could do it your self, but it would be hard working putting them together on the tankpit sprite sheet.

I love these new tiles, I use them every time I play. Its something new and cool, and makes it funner to play. The ferries and treasure chest are boss. Its cool that we made them from nothing. I like the mines too, They are those black pirate bombs/grenades.

Once we finalize them 100% we will post them for everyone to use. We will fix the floor tiles and make everything look good together,

Also. we was thinking 4 coloured Cannons!. Would be cannons on wheels that drive around and blast people!

theres free game sprites that can be used. So mario etc would be fairly easy. I wouldnt personally make something as detailed as mario or some other old game character. out of mine and kyles skill set. we were planning to make big cannons on wheels. pretty easy to make.

i really never understood how tiles are created and then inserted in the game . Can you two shoot me a pm and direct me to the right place ? i have a few ideas of my own i would like to work on .

tankpit could be far from just a tank game with some of these new graphics being made.

It's pixel art. Search some tuts to learn the basic. It's tough because you have very little room to work with. If it were possible, I'd create an entirely new set with say 32x32 pixel tiles. This would make the graphics bigger and give you some extra room for detail. Right now were close to finishing this tile set minus some very tedious trial and error on the rocks. Touch everything else up an give it some sort of color scheme so it all meshes nicely.

Sw, if I were to edit all the other graphics could it be utilized? I was thinking if we could set our own 'loadouts'. Meaning have preloaded settings so you can switch from, say grey scale (grey maps, grey tiles etc) to say pirate bay (new tiles, new tanks, new map colors etc) without having to do it one by one.

figured out the tile scheme for the rocks. pretty simple actually. tomorrow we'll do some more trial and error to fix the spots that look whack. still gotta remaster basically everything

I worked on fixing the tiles all night. I had to line all of the boards up and take out lots of unwanted lines. And I also had to piece together the rocks/LOgs/Fence. About 7 hours to do that and a few minor fixes. Jordan is still working on a different set too. So he will make a different one and I will finish this first set for who ever likes these ones.

Looks pretty cool so far! Ill do more updates tomorrow after work!
