Dueling to Deactivation Arena

With ENDURANCE recently being challenged to a fight in an ongoing thread, it made me think - how could we arrange a legit battle to death without making it to complicated?

I think it would be cool if we had a corner of a map, maybe 4 screens in total. Barricade that corner of the map with blocks, take out all of the mines and equipment and put in a predetermined amount of fuel. Two tanks enter the map with an agree'ed start time (Like 7:35 or something) and as soon as the clock hits 7:35 the duel begins.

Rules
- No teleporting outside of the duel arena
- No moving the walls of the arena
- No quitting

This would be a really cool way to ensure its a battle to the death, because quite often 1 vs 1 battles don't end with someone dying.

I think it sounds awesome and could be worth a try. I just worry that it sounds like the kind of thing that someone will troll to mess with the people fighting, like that guy at a sword party who keeps coming in and shooting people even after people chase him off.

VK and ben created this exact format when they used to battle to the death in uTanks. I joined a couple of times as well. It was fun. I doubt how possible it will be when the game is busy though.

Don't put fuel in, that takes away from the randomness of the fight. Feed off the land. Could use the tank in the pit or the the cloud in Desert (top left) as an arena.

Ive partaken in battles like this in bf. was great fun, hard to referee. Would need to be done in practice, but u lose the fun of ranks.

it's easy. both tanks must be the same rank and fully equipped for a fair fight.

step 1. both tanks center their screen next to each other on an open piece of land with the f8 key to have the exact perimeter.
step 2. both radar the entirety of the screen.
step 3. both tanks hold an obstacle to prevent teleporting.
step 4. they fight to the death.

only allowed to get fuel and equipment already on screen. not allowed to leave the perimeter of that screen. if quit or drop obstacle, automatic forfeit and must surrender their rank to the winner.

any cheating found will be automatic forfeit

You can't pick up EQ while holding a obstacle, but you all ready knew that!

What I like about my idea a little better is that a person could possibly use scope and or teleport within the bigger parameters (4 full screens). It would add another element, and not just about firing off as many shots as possible without missing a turn for 3 minutes. No need for obstacle - if two people have agree'ed to death match, it would be very cowardly to quit or teleport.

This is pretty much Iceland/D6 if you go hard and play land...God forbid those maps ever come up and people don't complain the entire time to get it changed. If you can't pph for 4 straight hours on land the map doesn't have enough fuel.

Since it has seemed that CrazyStrongStud has lost his will to battle, I accept your challenge ENDURANCE. We will talk on AIM about setting up a time and rules.

I propose that we have two separate battles, each involving one of our main tanks. ENDURANCE, we may be brothers on the field fighting for the same red cause and I will continue to have your back on the field. However you can rest assured that when we enter for our duel, I will shoot you and continue to shoot you until one of our tanks lies in rubble. And I intend to be the last one standing.

ENDURANCE and I will be battling to the death tomorrow evening. We will both be on AIM at 11PM eastern time to discuss details of the fight, and it will then commence. There can only be one left standing. I encourage anyone who can make it to officiate the event and prevent interference from outside parties.

In bf there were 7 other maps to chose from. So those who played Iceland picked it. Of course it's not popular in the rotation, it can't handle the activity.

Our battle to the death will take place in Levels. A fitting map it's going to be a very strategic battle to the death. I will give you my all theintern, and the computers around you. Everything in the path of destruction will obliterate by my tanks dual shots. I spent all last night engraving them to say "2 THE FACE". They will fly straight, and true into the weak points in your tanks defenses. ENDURANCE will knock you down a rank tonight!

1-0

Good fight!. I hope you learned a lot I know I did. Our next encounter will be even more intense then that one was. I felt the adrenaline pumping... Was indeed a fine display of respect, and skill by both parties. Peace, Love, and hippie grease.

Unfortunately, I must report that I was decisively defeated by ENDURANCE. I hope to provide more of a challenge for part 2 of our duel at a to be determined date with improved equipment management in the future. I must say 1v1 battles taking place in a predetermined area are definitely challenging and fun. I hope to participate in more in the future (aka does anyone else want to do this?).

How many armors left ENDURANCE?

This sounds fun, i always refer back to runescape... but in runescape, there was this thing called "dueling" where you can 1 v 1 someone and you could stake (risk) things and if you were to win, you get those things. This would obviously be a huge change if there was some kind of "TP store" for different kind of upgrades maybe you can buy with "winnings." This could get complicated really fast and can take many routes so I'l just leave it at that for now. But I think it would be so cool if TP has another dimension to it like "goods/upgrades" or objective games, etc. More incentives to "do well", to play more, to team up, etc.

I will embarrassingly call myself out here and say that endurance told me on aim that he had around 44 shields at the end of the fight . How much of that came from equipment he picked up throughout the fight I don't know. I know that I was kickin myself after for not really picking to equipment during the fight, which I will go out of my way to do more of in the future. Lesson learned I guess :facepalmmmm:

We are going to be fighting again sometime when I get back from Vegas, with endy on his main tank and me on one of my secondaries. I will hope for a better result.

Meh I am not ashamed to lose to a very respected and worthy opponent in endurance. I'd rather fight hard and lose than not fight at all.
