Well.

Here it is.

I've decided to go ahead and make the end-all be-all series of tankpit raid videos. Mainly meant as an educational and resource tool, and also inspired by all the shit talking and dramatizing and romanticizing we do, here's some solid proof and reference. Hopefully we can all use these videos to not only learn from eachother, but put an end to the incessant bickering and imaginary bullshitting. This is real time, tangible, cold hard video. Bear in mind I've only been playing TP2 for the past month or so, so there are only a hand full of videos at the moment. That being said, I will continue to video all raids I'm part of henceforth, and you can look forward to many updates and additions to come.

Couple things worth mentioning. I apologize in advance for the subpar editing. I'm not trying to publish brilliantly edited flashy videos to stimulate your brain with pretty lights and robot noises. Just simple good old raids. There are no game sound effects or music in them, and you will even hear some background noises. Just mute them for now and turn on some metal or some Kanye or some fucking jazz, whatever you like to listen to. Later on I'll add gameplay sound effects if you'd like. Didn't intend to publish these first few videos, I only recorded them for personal amusements. From hereon I'll do my best to make all the videos pretty and clean cut for you guys. I'm aware these are all non-blue tanks, and my fellow blues will want to see their takes posted, so I'll start raiding and recording on a different colored tank soon. Also, I know I'm a retard, and what I'm doing in the game doesn't make sense sometimes. It happens. :rolleyes:

And with all that being said, I look forward to adding many many more takes to come. The volume and consistency of the updates is entirely up to you guys, isn't it. If you see me in the map you can pretty much safely assume I'm recording if there's any semblance of activity. So get to playing.

Cool vids dude, nice idea aswell. Tis good to watch your own takes from a different perspective, it all happens rather quickly when your actually being raided. Am pretty chuffed my vid was not the shortest lol, glad you didnt catch one of my many full shield beauties :lulzz:

Been wanting to do this for a while. After seeing jarnotic's videos finally gonna start this thread. Perhaps if a lot of people start recording themselves we can turn this into a section instead of a thread. I think it will work better if each video has it's own thread. Then we can have votes for best take of the week or something fun.

If anyone is interested, for recording I used Hypercam 2 http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/. It's free and doesn't slow my computer down when I play. The only problem is that the recording size is huge. Like a 10 minute video is about 1-2gb. However I edit and convert it through Microsoft Movie Maker (you should have this if you have windows). And the size drops to about 15-20mb lmao.

Anyways, here are 4 takes I recorded. Personally, I like to give 2 ratings, difficulty (how many on you, how well they stay on target, amount of fuel around, etc.) and take (how many shots are you firing per screen, how many times did you get close to death, how long you lasted, etc). But any form of rating or comments, good or bad is welcome!

i love watching these vids. I always wanted for people to record their own takes and then compare.

i'm gonna watch em all while tp is down and rate them. 8-)

my rating system is just a quick judgement. Difficulty-number of enemies on you and the amount of fuel around, how well did they follow target, etc. Take-how many shots you fired in how many screens and how long you lasted. I understand these would be more accurate from the taker's POV, but since all of these takes are from the same guy's POV it atleast has some consistency.

Molekula these are all from the past few weeks. Not sure which updates you mean. Also you did pretty decently in that take. I have a hand full of 10-20 second takes from people where they either fucked up, or simply had 12 tanks on them. I'll get around to posting them perhaps, but for now, no desire to post that shit. :hah:

I know I shoot the "wrong" target a lot. :rolleyes:

Half of the time it's not really a structured raid, and if we're just mobbing I'll get kind of willy nilly. Also sometimes if I notice somebody is radaring for a team mate, or sniping us, or whatever, I've found if you pump a couple duals into them they'll disappear for a few screens at least, allowing the other raiders a chance to focus a bit more. Clearing the colors out. I'll do this if I'm not particularly in need of the kill, and or if the rest of my color is already fuel jacking and mining sufficiently and there's not much else to do other than shoot the target. And yeah, sometimes I just shoot random tanks. :hawhawhaw:

Solid effort. (my take was shit.) But i love seeing this type of stuff, 1: i can deduct what the fuck im doing wrong and reflect on it. 2: since we all have stronger gaming machines compared to the old days, it means this game can be archived on youtube more and more and Youtube is free advertising.

(also make sure to tag every random word associated with the game that you can think of btw, the more tags the more customers we can potentially bring in)

I remember that take. I turned on my homers cause I was out of everything else. Shooting a homer ended up lagging me in the very last screen and screwed me. Huge ass mob that night though. Took like 8 times and it was definitely fun. Great thread, you'll be seeing more from me in the coming weeks so hopefully you'll get some good recordings from it.

What do you mean? Was I spamming "Is that the best you can do?" Don't take the in-game messages personally. Nobody is really angry with you or anything, just trying to put some fire under your butt. :blum:

Nope, nothing is sped up. I just have a decent computer system and internet connection, and I've been playing this game for 13 years or so now. As you play more and more your instincts will develop and you'll just do things like that fluidly and naturally. You're only as fast as you let yourself become.

Keep playing man, it's good to see new people enjoying the game.
