Just how long can people say, " It was a die down" until most realize there's a pattern?
Just curious.
Just curious.

infinity for some. reputation is key in these situations. the funny thing is, you have a poor reputation die downs are always going to be fks (what's his name). you have a great reputation die downs are always going to be random legit occurrences (sean)
its basically a double standard. however, theres ultimately nothing anyone can do. Its only a game. and you play for enjoyment and thats it. You cant control what others do/say/think/act. can only ensure you have the most fun possible. die downs will always be around so long as tournaments are decided by luck of the draw/sketchy issues. Im sure theres multiple ways around this, probably even an lb for it. good luck for someone who figures it out. i have quite a few ideas on how to mix up tournament play to make it more competitive and fair for everyone, new and old alike. Just not enough ambition/care to type it all into words with other fancy shit to sell it.

I miss read this topic... But this is pretty much how I feel about it. And jordan is right its mainly about reputation. But yeah if its really consistent then that shits gay. But for someone like me the odd die down is fine. Im not gunna beast for 55 mins then watch everyone ranking from these die downs as I sit at luit with top pph. Im going after these nigs like the rest of yahs.
Yeah that shits stupid. Die downs have always been a part of this game since day 1. Shits stupid when people bitch at people that cup from snagging a die down or w/e . Unless it looks suspicious. But if someone died ina raid then comes in and keeps dieing, You may as well try to get it. if you don't get it or try to get it. someone else sure as hell will. 70% of kills in this game are die downs. It is lame to kill someone if they come right to you and depo so you kill them, but if you actually gotta go find this ma fucka, and there are others shooting him, and you somewhat have to work for the kill and get lucky enough to get it. Then that shits fine. I yous-ta get a bit of heat from shit like this, But I never took a planned FK since my Iceland coolkylemac days. And I had 70 legit cups in battlefield, 40 cups in uTanks, and 7 cups in Tankpit, But I couldn't stand tankpit tournys at first, so slow and very very frustrating, I enjoy them now tho, Its allot faster and smoother.
And I guarantee every single player here has killed a die down in a tourny before.
neways keep on keeping on guys, And good luck in future tankpit tournys.

even in the unlikely scenario sean kills the same kid 3 times in one tournament, whos going to think he planned it? cup legit. switch scenarios and its an outrage likely leading to a perma ban/drift to darkness. however, those players who do end up with a bad reputation usually deserve it and are repeat offenders.
this creates a dynamic where reputable players can redeem every kill available to them, and shady/less than reputable players need to actively avoid them in order to garnish some sort of rep back. fair punishment? I think so.

If you didn't need a deactivation to rank then die downs and planned fks = eliminated.

This but the same people will cup EVERY tourn. Ranking gives people more of a chance.
Also sylar is right, Sean gets a die down almost every tourn but that's fine he has a good rep. I get 1 or 2 out of 15 tournaments and they are free kills. Stupid. I deserve heat for what I did in tp1 but people are getting stupid with accusations. The only guys I see plan'd fks take place is with BLUNTZ purposely giving them to goblin. The rest are usually from dicks who try to ruin the tourn. I explained what happens each tourn in another thread.
Somebody dies down to purposely fuck somebody over and at the same time make the guy who took them look bad. They have fun doing this. People are stupid not to realise this.

what's his name youve been getting more suspicious kills than 1-2 every 15 tournaments. you need to either completely avoid sketchy kills (mainly 1v1s and even 2v1 die downs) or accept that the heat you get is warranted. we dont care that this is your fresh start, its always been a fresh start with you. My advice would be to completely leave the forums and just let your gameplay do all the talking, it definitely can't hurt. and this way people could gain some respect back for you.
take it as you want to, but i feel like if youre serious about making this turn around you need to do it differently than now.

To serious about the turn around? I don't give 2 shots if people like me or not. I am completely legit this time. People get mad because I don't even help by giving people who take raids serg fks. I am against any kind of cheating. I dodge die downs, see other tournaments I don't take them. I try to avoid them but my last cup was 100% die down, I avoided all tourn and lost out on so many points. I should of dominated but that guy kept trying to die to me. I'm trying to say, I am not going to alter my play style to avoid a kill. I do try not to kill them but some are unavoidable unless I completely quit or stop shooting and who does that when winning a tourn?
Anyway, don't want to jack the topic since its turning into what most topics turn into so PM me if you want to continue to discuss, I only put this message here because I would like people to see it.
Also this is not me going on the defensive against you, I just wanted to say these things.

Not true at all. Some people have an edge yes, but the top 5 players in an all around point tournament will certainly have bigger targets on their backs, killing would still be in the game you just wouldn't need one to rank up.

the deal with die downs... maybe these are people tryingto ruin the game... yes... maybe there's a few of them trying. maybe there's some trying to help others.... nice gesture but it's unfair to others. then there's the 3rd group who play.... and dont use these forums nor aim so we can communicate with them to tell them what's going on. there are tanks in tournaments... that i see never place lower than 20th place but play nearly every tourny. they die and get discouraged and just think "well i'll help somebody else"... or maybe they dont care. nobody's had that branch of communication with every single player in TP to talk with and maybe positively encourage them to think of their actions, what they lead to, and how they affect the outcome. i myself simply didnt know much about tourny morale because i never play them. i didnt know about the unofficial rules and boundaries and i unfortunately crossed them. the suspiciousness i myself would look for... are 2 things... 1. same tanks doing it every turny... (people helping friends) 2. different tanks every tourny (tanks you've never seen before in the game) dieing and then dieing down to others. the question is... WHO are the people with consistant myesterious tanks. that is rather hard to know because we dont know who is doing it... but i have an idea. learn from either forums and/or aim who's playing and what tank. there could be people who you are friends with that may be doing this right under your nose. it may surprise you the lengths people travel for satisfacton. people tend to do things you wouldnt imagine in the heat of the moment.

Still my point, Sean will take 95% of golds he plays in. Then there are about 4-5 other players who usually do well every tournament then everybody else stands no chance if its just straight up pph. Sean will tell you himself that next to nobody knows how to 1v1/pph in this game.

It's not a shot at you if you continue to read. You get more than others and I know they are not planned, the guys who die down use the top pph leuits to screw over the captains with legit kills. Not your problem that you are top pph. I know this because when I am top pph die down do tend to find me and half of the time I do not kill them. Nothing but honest game play, if I get one I tell people.

That's jays problem. He feels like just calling himself legit and turned around he can just go and do all the same shiit. Forgetting that back when he cheated (like 5 periods of time) he said the same shit and was revealed a cheat. Either stop taking die downs or keep your rep as is

people just need to stop worrying about the cup they will take home each tournament.. they also need to accept the fact that if they are playing legit it will take a few times to cup
planned or accepting obv fks will get you a gold or silver cup because you either have top pph and are predicting them or you are in the process of getting them for major. almost all tournaments are tainted in tpv2 in my eyes because we don't have newbs who play so when you see all these clowns dying down, they are trying to die down.
its sad when you try to think of a legit honest cup where someone didn't receive a fk for captain or major. and blank out for the most part. we've had tournaments for what, 3 months now?
i think we have a pavan or 2 that die down to whoever just to mess with the tournament for kicks.. but then i think we have planned die downs to certain parties or teams that we will never know about as well. but in all reality who cares? personally i plan to get a cup or two more on the tanks i want and don't plan to play them from then on due to the excessive gayness we see each tournament. they truly are a waste of time

I'd agree with this, although the tourneys I do poor in I know what I do wrong. The last one I played (shitty ass Aquarium) I filled about 9 mins in, the top 5 were already sergents. I went hard as shit the next 20 mins and got to #4 before I died looking for equ. I wouldn't use the term "stand no chance" I along with another 4-5 guys stand a chance given a decent equ fill.

this is 100% true
i was gonna post this earlier but it was gonna derail the topic
certain guys try to screw over specific players from gettin a cup. best way to do this? die down to the top pph or close to it. some times you can almost expect someone dying down to you if you got the top exp and you see some unfavorable guy ranked ahead of you.
or in another case, when a player thinks a certain player's kill was not legit. then he goes and die down to the top pph because he thinks he "deserves" the cup more. (pretty much bluntz' thinking)

Kills (without FK detection, tournament mods, decreased shot damage, etc...) are needed to make the game more competitive, otherwise, like what's his name said, a lot of the people who puff their chests today would still be cup-less.
And it's not like top pph always gets die downs. I can't even begin to count how many more times I've finished in the 96th-99th percentiles in TPv1 and TPv2 stuck one rank below a cup than I've cupped from a die down.

Its simple. Play a tank no one knows and don't take obvious die-downs.
Thats all we can control anyways.
