We have the archived section yes. A new section designed to bring back memories from the original game would make for some good talk.

We've had some random bf topics brought up in the tankpit sections over time which I think is fine. I don't think there is enough activity to have a whole section talking about bf but it would be cool if more bf related discussions were brought up here.

One time in bf i killed some scrub in raid against me and got promoted to major, i died shortly thereafter. Good stuff.

The point of the section would be to have a section not in correlation with tankpit. I know memory isn't that reliable but oldies who don't play the game could have something to contribute on here.

After all the title of this forum is "BF"unity.

Playing battlefield as a newb and not know about the community was the funnest days. I ran on appaloosa land I did all nighters on that map. On day I went into battlefield and some dude started talking in the chat I was like WTF? then he started shooting me I died so fast and I was fucking pissed I lost my Major Rank and I knew he was hacking or somthing. He said in the chat "check out BFunity" which is to why I am here now. Than I met some guy I think named "Pucky" he was Australian he told me how to get DTTx5

Pucky is actually from New Zealand, he hasn't been on the forum in a while. He was a frequent poster, anyone know if he's doing alright?

Also not sure how someone could have been "talking in the chat" like you mentioned because custom chat messages did not show up for site players

This was found to be untrue, because if you know how the custom messages worked (some msgs are seen by everyone vs. the ones that are only seen by color group) that if you overwrite a global preset, then everyone would see that custom msg. As even I have seen custom msgs playing on site(think it was oxy I saw in des one day spamming Help! Noob [random coords here]), well before I knew about the community and x5, and I wondered how the hell anyone was doing that.

I can second this. I remember seeing the odd custom text before DTT was so widespread. It seemed to have gotten fixed though, because I only remember seeing it a few times.

Right before the move to playbattlefield.com, there were those excruciatingly laggy tournaments. I won gold on one at the amazing rank of corporal.

Haha I remember those. When I was sifting through old tournament results (thanks to -kirby-) I found a bunch of them. They were soooo annoying, you would some times sit for like 3-4 minutes without a turn happening. I believe I also won one as sergeant.
