Mods and admins, please feel free to update this as you see fit.

I've seen a few people returning without knowing what's happened. So here is a succinct summary of everything that has gone down regarding TankPit.

About a month and a half ago, Tank Pit went offline. We were all in the dark about this until about 3 days ago, when Sun Wolf announced that he had been helping other individuals run the game since it had come into existence. (For actual post, see: viewtopic.php?p=286649#p286649 )

In summary of that post, the rest of the dev team had gone AWOL and the game would not be coming online any time in the foreseeable future.

However, earlier this morning, the game did, in fact, come back online.

As of now (8:05pm EST Oct. 25, 2012), the game is still undergoing periodic volatility from certain systems being calibrated and reset, etc...

The problem is that the game that is up only has the database up until early May of this year.

What that means is that anything you achieved over the last 6 months, be it a sword, number on the top 25, award combination, etc... is essentially gone.

Hours are rolled back to whatever they were at in May. If you had not created your registration yet, your registration and your tanks do not exist. If you had accrued hundreds of hours in-game, those hours are gone.

That being the case, we can't do much about what's already lost. Some have decided to move on to uTanks, some have decided to take some time off, some are still undecided. Among those who are potentially staying, the discussion is on what the extent of the reset should be. Should everyone's hours be kept at what the reset had them? Should special awards be re-awarded to the same players to put on tanks as they see fit? Or should everything be wiped clean so everyone starts on even footing, with a fresh slate?

For that, please visit the thread: viewtopic.php?f=132&t=16592

UPDATE: 10/30/12

Stats and awards have been reset. If you had tanks previously, your registration has been wiped and all data reset.

If you registered after May, you will have to re-register and make new tanks.

If you won any special awards, contact TP via the contact form (found at http://tankpit.com/contact/ ) and explain what award you are re-claiming as well as pertinent information regarding that (such as a brief description of your award-winning entry, information on registration information, etc...)
