uTanks is seriously charging people $15 to change their name? :tehfunny:

It's cheaper to change my XBL gamertag. Seriously though, are they desperate for money or something?

The funniest thing about it, is people are actually doing it.

it might be overpriced, that much is debatable but all the proceeds go towards the advertising. it's only 15 dollars, if someone can't afford to spend as much for something so little which in turn benefits not the developers but the game itself then you obviously should not be playing the game and out looking for a job instead.

a tank name means a lot to each player, sometimes they made a mistake the first time without thinking, this system is in place to help people amend their mistakes and make their name more meaningful.

it's the buyer's ultimate decision, if they want to waste their money on a name change then it is their choice.

there is no reason why you should ruin the game for other players, if you hate the game then don't play it, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but keep them to yourself please.

If i put 100 hours in to a game and suddenly decide i want to change names $15 dollars is cheap for 100 hours of fun. And in the end i get to keep my awards. Lightbulb idea for to maybe. Hopefully not though people will cheat for an award then change their name and pretend to be a good player lol.

Lol, money isn't a issue. I'm just saying $15 is way overpriced. I could see $5, even maybe $8. They could of put out something a little more valuable, but to each his own I suppose.

And I understand how much a tank name means, especially if you've put countless hours on it. Why start to charge for something when you were doing it for free?

I know it's in demand, but I personally don't like the name change idea at all. It was like when Runescape did it years ago. I didn't know who anyone was anymore. Plus, if your tank has been "winter" for 200 hours, why change it? To each his own I guess.

Ooo we talking business. Might as well sell awards for money. Rare awards cost the most of course. Full equip fill cost like a quarter (people will use it when feelin lazy or taking a raid). Create a shop/market, players can also sale/exchange their awards, with like 5-10% sale price going to the developers. (just like eBay and amazon). $$$

Let capitalism begin!

Note: the game needs to be super addicting first, also with a large player base before any money talk.

Such fuckin idiots I swear, I didnt even wanna respond to this thread until now but your idiots if you donated money to get a name change, You think because they keep telling you uTanks will do great it will be big you are going to just keep donating and giving money? Have idiots even seen the donation list? Do you not see how many people used to have faith in uTanks and donated so much money, Maybe thousands of dollars have gone in Kevandys pockets and nothing has been done. NOTHING. 1/10th of the people who donated money maybe still play and thats the bf's who are dumb enough to. UNBREAKABLE is right you blind idiots dont want to see it. They have taken thousands of dollars out of your pockets and have done nothing but dictate every step of the way, do as they pleased without giving you anything. They dont update, fix bugs anything. uTanks is their 5th priority while you queers flip burgers so you can send money so kevandy can take his girlfriend/wife out to eat with it. Do you not see how much more money was gave towards the name changes? Do you know how much it actually takes them to change a name? 2 minutes. even less. When I asked kevandy about why do they charge he said "Its not about the money we just dont want people abusing the system", What system? All ten players? ten bf members? I think out of all the donations and faith the once strong uTanks community had in you guys least thing you could have done was give free name changes for all the times people couldnt play because of servers being down, all those times people got screwed out of tourneys because servers crashing. Least thing you could have done was take a minute out of your day to donate some name changes instead of making podcasts with nothing but empty promises. You are internet Kon-artists, and thieves and you need to be stopped. Did you forget after all the donations how fast Kevandy were to shut down servers because sr called them out on their lack of effort to maintain stable gameplay? They never handled the truth well and never will. ^ I concur. If it's not worth it for you, you don't have to pay for it.

Every request may only take 2 minutes to do, but everything you have to do adds up to a fairly substantial amount of time. Not to mention if you do it for free you'll get many many more requests.

takes 2 minutes to do, and maybe 30 people play utanks (28-bfs) maybe half would want a name change out of 30 people, so 15 name changes 2 minutes a name change takes them thirty minutes to do. Of course they wont do it for free, why would any idiot do it for free when they know they have idiots whom they have promised a lot and believe there is some sort of a future with that game. So they create podcasts and in those podcasts they promise a lot of cool stuff in the future, so now you are excited and believe in uTanks which will most likely cause you to pull out your wallet and donate or pay for a name change. (back on subject) So far there is been maybe 20 name changes (i am guessing) 15$ a name change = 300 dollars. for 30 minutes of work they donate to changing the name you pay for when hundreds of hours you donated to playing their game and contributing to the activity was not enough for 2 minutes of their time. Again it might be optional but you cant ignore the fact that Tankpit is a much more active game and it has done some name changes for No Cost. That is JUST FACTS

I think its a good idea. You will still know who people are from their # and awards. Some people put 100's of hours into team tanks then the team ends they should be able to change the name to something else.

Tankpit did this for free for me and another member. Thanks tankpit.

lol, even though its true it wasn't a shot at utanks, I like how they have decided to do it as little as $15 for a name change. In battlefield, I made so many new tanks because I would think of an awesome new name. If I could of done this I would of had 1000+ hours on 1 tank.

Also not sure if wardog was joking, but I don't think its a bad idea that you could switch you're pp to another colour. Look at how dominant 1 colour gets (maybe not now since I havent played in a while) but when I did orange mobbed ws, orange mobbed blitz. It would be cool if the players who are orange could switch to red or purple or blue so it is more even. I don't know you guys should think it through though. Maybe lower the price on name change to $10 and $10 for starts switch over.

The only fact in your post is that it takes two minutes to accomplish a name change. Why should they provide a feature knowing that it will not be used all that much for free? Instead they could continue what they are doing and get better things for the sake of the game. You're right I am a hardcore utanks supporter. And that has to do with what? It's not like it causes some bias to cloud my judgment. However your bias is strong.
