So...
Did they just give up on this game? I mean it's been over two years since it started and over a year since final release was supposed to be out.

andy, clayton, and tapioca finished everything they needed to do for the game final release, apparently we're all waiting on kevin and stefan and they're both missing. i dont know about stefan but kevin told me he recently moved into a new home and hasnt had time or even his computer set up in his new home. shits really annoying though. even i finally lost my patience and gave up

Yeah, they waited way too long. As much as Kevin thinks he can just throw the game up whenever he wants and it's going to be successful is a bunch of bullshit. IMO, the game will never anything now, they fucked up big time by basically telling the community to fuck off.

I don't think it is a matter of arrogance in thinking it can just be released and some kind of immediate hit. Believe it or not, we don't sit around plotting and scheming, haha. Our lives have changed a lot and things have happened that have been reflected by the abundance or lack of updates to uTanks. It was our main focus before and after day jobs and college classes for years, but lives evolve and change and many passions are put on hold. Looking back, the plain reality of it is that the game has been released for awhile, whether we call it beta or whatever. Reality is that it was released and people got what they wanted from it for the time they cared to play it. At least that's the way I see it. It was an awesome game for awhile until things just kind of dried up (lack of development momentum, etc). Then we took it down for a week to redo a lot of stuff (in combination obviously with some drama, which was not needed of course), and TankPit spawned from the ashes. That was that. We have had activity since then and it was still fun for many months at a time, but since we stopped updating for the past 6 months, it has died considerably. Final release will really just end up being a 2.0 with tons of new features, some long awaited and some entirely unexpected. Most of it is done, honestly. There is still a bit missing and some things we need to tweak, as well a lot of bug fixing, but there is some cool shit done that I wish I could tell you about. If it ends being abandoned I will reveal possibly, but until I hear that Kevin doesn't want to finish it, I will keep it a secret. =)
At this point, I just hope the bitterness about whatever happened with your uTanks experience has subsided. We tried our best and I invested a lot of personal time to get the game back for this community when it all started. It got bigger than that for awhile and we were a huge success when we released uTanks Beta in May 2011. I prefer to think back on the excitement and adrenaline rush from that time rather than the slow decline that resulted from busy lives and new challenges in our day to day lives. Hell, I went from living in China as a student when uTanks was released to graduating college back in the USA and waiting tables again to getting my first career job and moving again. My life is drastically different than it was when uTanks was my prime focus.
Anyways, I can only say so much to cure your bad feelings towards the game (and possibly myself lumped in with it), but know that it was with hopeful intention that we created uTanks and stuck with it for so long.

uTanks development started 4-5 years ago... lol. They've been at it forever and the chances of it ever being finished seem slim to none.

cause they abandoned ship while it was sinking, while jagex continues to head out to sea and uses paper towels to plug their holes.
