thinking of remaking bfi
I'm developing another site for tankpit, to record teams + other goodies for ppl to skim through whenever they want to look back
example: www.uteams.webs.com
I made this site for utanks, its been somewhat of a helpful resource for me alone, it includes recent news, interviews etc
I figured since i'm taking a break from both games i'd have some spare time to work on a similar site for this game, it's a great learning experience for me too so its no biggie
basically the site will serve almost the same function as uteams, but i may add things like a monthly magazine/newsletter
kind of like recreating bfi for short.
thoughts? will also take ideas one what to add to spice the site up as well.
if anyone wants to join me in the cause just aim/pm me.

haha, kevin's going to update the award generator soon, once that is complete i'll switch all the individual awards with the code, and it'll self update not to mention load so much faster b/c the gen is an offsite code so it wouldn't lagg the server down having to search load all the separate .pngs but the site is pretty fast already

Solid idea.
. Include the progression of our top 100?

A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

do it

PRIDE

I agree, do it. After going through your uteams website, it's great, you put a lot more time & effort than I ever could. I just threw in team info afterwards to add to & complete my wc submission.

its hard to tell what the future of tankpit is, considering the general player population has no clue who owns it/is running it and for how long. but i thought the BFI was great back in the bf days and tbh tankpit can definitely suppot a site just like it cause everyone is so passionate who plays the game. and like this current situation with tankpit down people can still get their fix looking for something or putting time into a resourse site like BFI. I'd be willing to help spend time on creating the site with you. lots of options for the game to grow the website running along side tankpit.

will do definately, will have to trim it down to 50/25 if they ever decide to release more than 1 map at a time.

that's the exact route i've been trying to take with uteams, but given the current state of the game i don't know if it'll ever happen, at least it is somewhat supported through underground.
i'd love some help with the site though i have some positions open that would add some flair to the site.
roles:
Newsletter Journalist (for the newsletter page obviously, just help me monthly by writing an article or two about anything you want concerning the game, whether it be current events, game progression, or creative story. You can even talk to players for quotes as long as it's not an interview, there is a separate page for that)
Interviewer (conducting 1 on 1 interviews with players and keeping it as formal as possible, interviews will probably happen either monthly or every 2 months to keep the interest level up, please do not just interview your friends first)
Graphics Designer (just a little help occasionally with a few banners, template art, icons etc)
Content editor (would be nice to have someone who is experienced with html coding to help me update the site frequently, you'll only be doing award updates, all the bigger content will be left to me)
Tournament Stats (update cup points/lists weekly, just email/pm me a notepad/ms word list of every applicable person with there totals: 'Name' B# S# G# Pts. will make a table on site for this. I still don't know if I should include tournament lists on site though, seems pointless to me)
Guide Writer (a more comprehensive guide on different aspects of the game would be nice, i.e. tournaments, how to play, raid take. Kind of a simple one time job)
that's all i can think of for now \;
I plan on making the site bigger and broader than bfi to give people more incentive to visit so... yeah

Thoughts. My thoughts.. Tanks with cheated awards have asterisks, what's the line on over 20% rofl.
Ben if you're willing to do it then props to you. I know you will do a fine job, you have mad skills.

i'd love that sylar, once i get to work on the template i'll start pming you, interviews can wait until i get the core layout and pages finished, but it would save time if you can get a few guides done. be sure to separate the guides by subject instead of merging them all together, sean, out of the kindness of his heart, has volunteered to do the tournament guide for us.

should it be limited to just one player? I think Atelo and Wardog had also made some good guides. You also cant forget the original MJK Bible. I think having multiple versions from different players are all worthy of being up there. ITs interesting to see one persons strategy versus another.

no it's not limited to one player, you make a valid point, i just wanted to get some initial guides up for each category before i concern myself with adding more, rough draft basically

No doubt. Ill be willing to help out with the site as well if you need another hand in it. But from viewing your other sites you're more than capable, and probably best for this, but if you want the extra hand holler at me. The Original BFI is still in cache (i believe on your site links) which there is some good stuff to pull from, like carnages guides to raiding and taking raids etc.

I think majority of peoples guides are going to be similar. so the best route is to have one base tourny guide (seans) and from there others like seb and atelo could add things they do differently or things not mentioned. then add them in place with an asterisk to show its another players opinion.

zub and my post about 987's tourney guide were positive, not negative lol.
Multiple guides as nachos said would be perfect.
