I'm saying raise the % on everyone. If people are struggling, they should seek help. If it's do to a job insecurity that they chose, that's their fault. The people who struggle to make it by, and live honestly, (i.e. spend money wisely, not useless shit.) I'm sorry for. This only accumulates about .01% of our population though. They are the ones that the government needs to be helping.

The only way this would be fair is if you got rid of income tax and just made sales tax ridiculously high. Seb, correct me if I'm wrong, but stock options do not get taxed as income.

As far as I know, they become taxable only when a sale occurs and capital gains/losses are realized. Any dividends paid out are taxable as well.

But yeah. An ideal tax code should reward investment and financial prudence. If I make $10 million/year, spend $30,000, and invest the rest, I am doing more for the growth of the economy than someone who makes $30,000 and spends $35,000.

First, what does C&P mean? Second, I didn't factor in money lost to fraud and/or corruption within the system. There is data available for this at the moment and if I recall correctly, it comes out to about $0.40/$1.00 is lost between administrative expenses and fraud.

X-HayS-X wrote:Also, my second proposal seems to work quite well for Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, even the UK.

And yet none of those countries are in any way comparable to the United States given their population densities. Every single one of those has a population density AT LEAST 5 times greater than that of the United States. So building an efficient public transportation network is easier and cheaper than doing so in the US. Even so, the cost of maintaining these networks is exorbitant and possible only thanks to the high rates of taxation.

Not to mention none of them have an automobile industry that's even remotely comparable to that of the United States.

X-HayS-X wrote:So, part of their living expenses they are paid would be deducted, and used for a simple drug test. Have you ever had a urine sample sent off. It's relatively cheap. The government could make mass building in major cities to combine lab and law. It would still be tough, as you have said doctors and nurses are needed. The thing is, they aren't, certain test are already conducted in this manner. As in, you can submit a sample and tests are ran without human interference.

This would need the help of 3-4 doctors nurses to help, ***officially read*** the results. Basically just a check if they need to be cut off or a pass if they are good.

I don't understand why you're having such trouble with this. A pharmacy drug test is hardly empirical and acceptable. That's why any time you are tested by anyone other than your parents you have to go to a dedicated lab. These tests wind up costing about $40-50. A family unit of 2 adults and 2 children that receives $400/month in Food Stamps would lose ~1/4 of its benefit. Then there are all of the associated expenses (audits, record-keeping, enforcement, etc...).

So you need a lot more than just 3-4 professionals "to help, [sic] ***officially read*** the results."

So, you're saying population densities in our major cities aren't equivalent to the countries in western Europe? Even Eastern Europe has been growing well since the fall of USSR, December 91- January 92, and they have adopted this too.

c&p means copy and paste, lol.

Sorry, but I went to a lab before for a drug test, it cost 20. Maybe the cost is variable, but in the manner I am talking the cost would be less than that per individual. The lab would be costly. This would be a super lab. The individual families would bring themselves in. If not, they are cut off.

This lab would be all inclusive, doctors and nurses, not really needed. Only a few lab techs. Line up the urine samples, and run them via conveyor belt through multiple tests. Then, the sheets are printed with yes or no to certain drugs.

It's possible.

You would need lots of hands for minor jobs, nothing that the government wouldn't be gaining from this process.

Explain yourself. I don't understand what you mean by copy and paste.

Do you think I copied and pasted something? Is it an expression I don't know of?

Population densities are crucial for establishing effective transportation networks. Consider, for instance, that the UK has an average commuting distance of μ=8.5mi.

In the United States, μ=16mi. That's almost twice the distance and five times the population. And given that 82% of the American population lives in or around Metropolitan areas, outliers from rural areas are not likely to have had a significant impact on the data collected.

But whatever. I feel as though I'm wasting my time, so I'm done.

Enjoy.

killer is so underrated, stroke of fucking genius. Really though, it was a joke. Also, why isn't there a counter on my drug lab ideal setup?

With the commute being longer, there would be more of a need for public transit. It's as broad as it is long...
