btw Nameless I found it funny that you said to "sell" your idea. Seems so over the top to flood the idea with totally biased words trying to make it better. This is for an award for a game, not a business opportunity that you can make money off of. Just seems like an unfair advantage; those with experience in talking a product up has an edge in these submissions.
it is what it is though and again, thanks for sharing this information.

By sell i mean give reasons why the idea is good so they dont have to think of them on their own. I have no sales experience other than a little store when i was 16, 11 years ago. I still think sell is yhe right word to use. Like "sell it" show them they want your idea, give them good reasons to use your idea. Hope that clears things up.
Edit believe in your idea and selling it will be easy. Its not like trying to pawn a shitty used car off on a customer. I think most people submit ideas that they feel improve the game in some form or fashion so talking it up is easy. The reason i included it in my write up was because i dont want people to forget to talk up their idea. Its a major point and shouldnt be left out.
I should also note try to keep your email short 3-4 paragraphs max. They dont want to read books their time is important to them.

For the record, to "sell" something means to make another want it.

For the record, the idea should be good as itself. It doesn't need unnecesary adjectives in it's description. Nameless I see your point but this is just anoter thing we disagree on

The idea could be great but sometimes you need to open up someones mind to what might make the idea great. If you fail to do this you're really hindering your ability to win an lb. You need to help the person see your vision its a simple fact. If you disagree that's fine but in my opinion you're causing your own handy cap.

People are so afraid of the word 'selling' like it's given a bad connotation. You sell yourself in different ways constantly without even realizing it. If you're married then you're one of the best salesmen in the world.

iuno el. I'm a short, sweet, and to the point kind of guy. If I were dev, all that rabble rabble rabble would annoy me and kill your chances of winning, not help.

I agree, which means you have to keep it like a skirt, long enough to cover the topic and short enough to be interesting. A couple paragraphs isn't too much reading depending on the subject, but a lot can be said if you have control over the English language.

Or one of the worst consumers.
