Think this would help with the quitting low problem?
What if Tankpit had a reward that counted the amount of shots you take in one game session. This means if you logged out for any reason, your damage counter would reset. Also, damage taken from bots would not count and you could only get a limited amount of damage from each player.
For example,
You log on and you want to get this "new medal". You prepare yourself for some serious surviving, and a mob/raid comes. Lets say the mark for the first tier reward is 1000 shots taken in one game session. The mob starts shooting you, 5 different players are all hitting you, adding up your damage counter. Your job is to survive it all. If you quit low, your counter resets. If you die, your counter resets. If you and a bud try to farm it, you can't, because each opponent can only give you so many damage points... lets say 200 each player. This means that you would have to fight 5 different opponents or take a raid of 5 people. This max restriction would be hour long caps i suppose.
Another problem I can't really figure out is the fact that players would be overly careful once there counts get too high. This means that they would probably stop shooting back all together and teleport all over the place getting fuel. I figure the community would solve this problem though, Because if a player starts to do this, the mob/raid would just call "LAME" and quit fighting him, therefore stalling his damage count.
I have submitted this idea...But It just kind of popped into my head. PLZ all criticism is welcome and if you see a flaw in the reward hit me with it.

If there is a quitting low problem, which I'm not sure there is, then there are several ways it could be prevented or made more difficult. The thing is, people are gonna quit one way or another. If quitting low is prevent people will simply quit earlier when they still can. It may be worse to have everyone quit early than to have a few people quit low. Those people are already cast in a negative light in the community.

Quitting low is not a problem, not taking a raid is worse with around 70% who just raid and won't be raided. I like how your thinking but it would be to easy to get some friends shooting you to get the award. I think the game is set for awards myself though.

Probably the trillionth time this issue has been looked at, but I think that a time-delay type of implementation could be effective to stop low quitting.
You could make it so that one's tank doesn't actually leave the map for an entire minute after they press Q. Nobody is going to be able to predict what kind of situation they'll be in a whole minute into the future. I suppose you could also temper the timer amount based on the number of tanks in the map; if there's only one other tank in the map, the time delay could be like 5 seconds or nill (because a minute would be understandably annoying if literally nothing is going on). Maybe if there are 6 or more tanks in the map it could be a full minute.
Anyway, it would mean that people who like to leave as they start getting raided would have to survive for at least a minute before they can leave... which might even deter them from trying to leave in the first place. I think this would be a help. Of course, one could also simply marathon for a whole minute before they leave, but at least in that minute they might see enough people screaming "Lame!" at them to realize they aren't playing to the highest standards.

It would mean as soon as a team enters etc, everyone quits out while they can, which IMO sounds like a worse thing than having a couple ppl quitting low.

i usually turn the power switch off in my house as soon as i see more than 2 people on my screen. ive found this to be the most effective way of preserving my captain.
