Colour Caps

Postby Jay » Sat Jan 28, 2012 3:40 pm

I know this topic has been spoken about, I was to lazy to go fine a previous topic on the subject.

I believe that the colour cap has something to do with the amount of 1 colour in the game over the amount of the least played colour in the game :

Code: Select all
Name: DemolitioN
Rank: Major
Active Forces
Red: 14
Orange: 11
Blue: 15
Purple: 11

There are 4 more blue tanks than the least played colour/s, there for I can't get in since I am a major.

Code: Select all
Name: DemolitioN
Rank: Major
Active Forces
Red: 14
Orange: 11
Blue: 14
Purple: 13

Even now I still can't get in although the teams are evenly matched apart from orange of course. So I decided to switch to another tank what was recruit and entered as blue with no problem. Is this to discourage me ranking up, it makes me want to die down every time I leave so I can play when ever I want. Not sure how else you could code the colour caps but this is the only annoying thing I can find about this game now, if only this was perfected you have the running of a perfect game in my eyes, or as close to perfect as I would like lol

Could somebody try and explain the colour cap rules to me, what if the 2 oranges what where in are general, does that mean that the other colours can have more people in than if they where both serg's? Its probably very straight forward and I am probably complicating things.

I think they are trying to keep a bunch of high ranks from bullying lower ranked new players trying to get a grasp of the game. Someone was complaining about that on the bulletin board.

I agree with that, but it is bullying the good players who don't attack the new guys out of playing. Well unless a low rank

I don't want this game to turn into what battlefield was and everybody staying serg to snipe people, although I am all up for fuel basing, surprised nobody has got together to do this yet lol

If you make a secondary tank on a different color you can play the weak team all the time and maximize fun like a pro.

Otherwise you're gonna have to wait to get on 1 color.

I think the color caps have been working OK. They got relaxed from earlier when they were too strong.

I have tanks on each color. Some days I get to colonel, then I switch colors when my color becomes too popular to start over. I die a lot to raids etc too. Its not the end of the world. It's far more interesting to play the weak color than the strongest one anyways.

Blue has the perfect balance, it mobs then as soon as a couple leave they all switch to purple recently and leaves me being the only blue in.

SW doesnt like teams, so hes set the caps very low with disregard to the fact that most people have a main tank with a single color and feels that its acceptable to expect people to have a tank on each color to play at all times during the day. This is a bias and as 98nigga said, a fail on the developers part.

uTanks has caps but they are much more leniant and we openly communicate with our player base without trying to act like we arnt really writing the game. feel free to stop by the forums when you get sick of dealing with the crazy restrictions on colors.

inb4 sunwolf making some over exagerated claim on some negative aspect to the game.

You'd never have to worry about color limits on uTanks... because nobody plays that game anymore. :hammertime:
