less points to rank vs. bf

i really, really don't like this.

interested to see other peoples views on the subject. in the regular maps its practically a non-issue, but in tournaments i think its a major negative. completely skews the dynamic towards deaths and cheapens an already weak/cheap take on tournaments.

its somewhere around 33% less to rank.

for the record before someone calls me a hater, utanks has a similar problem, even though the point system there is slightly different.

i'm not so sure its that much less to rank. I think combination of being able to move faster helps you get off more shots per hour thus increasing your pph and helps you rank faster.

It doesn't seem much different. I know it is though. You can get the pp quicker. Not sure if they made it so you need less points or made it so you get more pp per shot. In the tourn that just passed if it was bf still 2 of the majors would not of made it to major. I would of taken a silver behind okismybestfriend.

After reading atelo's post it could be the slight speed increase that helps people to gain the pp faster? They really didn't change much when the game was released.

3 things id like changed

1) that shit where you hit c and it shows you your points (i know they got rid of this so people wouldnt look at it in the reg game, but in tournaments i think we need this back)
2) some type of display that shows total points at the end of the tournament
3) same points to rank as bf

half points to rank & half the starting eq so recruit has 30 instead of 60. Everyone fills faster, everyone ranks faster. 1 hr tournaments can end with generals. Best tournament plan ever.

I agree. I think it's due to the speed of the game. It was tweaked so there shouldn't be colonels in 1 hrs, but I think making majors rarer would be better.

Maybe its the same points total but you get more points per shot. I've been saying its quicker to rank up since forever now. I don't think there's a problem with that either some of yall just hate changes, remember its a different game. Everyone will adjust to the new system in time just accept that its a little tweaked.

The speed argument is unlikely, seeing as even on X5 it was only possible to make colonel if you ranked up with the exact amount or a few thousand over at each rank.

Half the pp per shot earned and I can still get enough for major in a tourn lol in game my pph sucks though.

showing points in the tourney is meaningless cause you have the promotion bar. showing total points at the end of the tourney would just be annoying cause everyon would just jerk off on themselves about their pph even more so. doesnt appeal to me if you have the highest pph. if you didnt land in the top 3 it doesnt matter.

We all play for different reasons. Some people just wanna get any cup, some people are satisfied as long as they have good tpp(total pp). I rarely get top tpp but would be cool to see the results at the end.

I could care less about knowing points. Somebody pphing for 40mins and ends up lieut isn't even in the same category as somebody who hunted their ass off for kills and made major.

I like it the way it is. Also I like the aspect of not knowing points while in game. Keeps you on your toes.
