What Have You Been Doing
With no Tank Pit?
I been on some wild shit that I think even my snob friends on here can take interest in. Back when I graduated in 07, I immediately went to community college to pursue print making classes just to learn how to turn my graffiti into a product of sorts. Alot of students who took that also took ceramics, I didn't. Well to make a long story short I got kicked out of the class after numerous incidents with the teacher whom I did not get a long with. As that happened I switched over to Business courses and completed all e-commerce courses to become certified, I could work at a company in their e-commerce division now but I like being an entrepreneur. As some of you know I own a store on Amazon. Keepn it movn..
Anyway, in the midst of being good at print making and getting kicked out due to stupid shit such as the content of my art work, I remained in contact with dudes that respected me as a graffiti writer galaxies ahead of their grasp at that platform. They've thrown me work here and there for things like collaborations in pieces and recently one piece got in this international art magazine. In the next few weeks though, we are releasing a series that's already sold every piece of ceramic pottery i've touched with my paint. The main theme is "urban pottery" my friend molds shit you would find in cities covered in graffiti like a man hole lidded sewage pipe with a steel beam handle which is actually a pitcher, phone booths, random shit. He molds all the shit with clay and fires it, then I paint it to make look like a legitimate piece of urban grime that you'd find in NYC, philadelphia, detriot, pittsburgh etc. and I even got some friends from nyc and phila to throw there work on it. I have been getting requests left and right for this shit, which I consider corny and stupid. But I'll take painting ceramic pots on the side while I run my Amazon store any day over not doing a hobby I love for a paycheck. We plan on having our first art studio show in the upcoming weeks toward christmas.
I just kinda thought about it cause I been putting doing this shit for weeks, like I've had the fired molds sitting in duffle bags in my basement for months untouched with no motivation. I started working on them a week before the game went down and with the game down pretty much all day I sit here and do my Amazon with my laptop laying around next to my studio desk where I been painting these things. Tank Pit down got me making more money.
