Thanks for posting this. This goes out to all of the RAID TAKERS. Greta job, and I hope that any org that raided you guys tonight will take the raids you give them. Cheers.

I went to bed early but it was pretty damn active then. Me, sensations and das lead a purple mob to run elements out, a few took the raids. If you guys stayed in and picked targets you would of took us out. I took one of your raids but the purple mob followed I kept jumping away to take but you guys stopped following. I had 8 shields after the laggy start managed to shoot most of my duels before you broke off. My guess was they where trying to target one of your guys but they didn't break or they where just mob shooting anything on screen. I hope to see more of this though. You have 55hours to kill me 28 times to stop me getting shiner with combat still :)

It was fun tonight even though I had to keep leaving. Need to take some raids on nitro now so I can rank back up. Been sitting this tank in the top 25 but with the team active again I plan on going up and down through the ranks. Fun night tonight though guys.

Yeah I newbed that up lol. I had 3 purps single me out while we where raiding and they forced me insuf since while I was already low. Anyway I rolled a screen found some fuel broke off and said bring it. Not a single one followed. So I hoped back in the raid. All I can say is duh me, you caught me slipping and I died stupidly lol. I was off all night but regardless I still had a lot of fun.

I did well in one raid over lunchtime yesterday, did okay when Elements raided me (that was a lot of people), did horridly against WiKiDs as colonel and major. I was already angry when I entered the map, probably shouldnt have even played on life tilt. I couldn't even have fun getting raided.

Regardless, good job to whoever raided me and gj to CORRUPTION for beasting a raid at lieutenant. You did good.

I fell asleep too early last night, I wanted to play. Dude el, when I came in and like 7 oranges were on your ass and I jumped in. You died shortly after. I just left. I felt bad for you. Like there was absolutely no purpose in fighting that many. I checked my eq after you died and I had shot 4 duals and 17 homers. The proof is in the pudding. Those numbers were too big for you to do anything but scramble then die. I stayed out for a while hoping the orange numbers would decrease. Later on, SIX DAY WAR was taking the purple raid. While I helped him, intentionally using the radar near-by and shooting at his raiders, he stayed alive and probably seemed like he was beasting it. The moment I left to go fill it was like a few seconds, probably a jump or two and he was dead. I left the map and told Shing nachos would die almost instantly since I wasn't helping and SIX DAY WAR had to fill. Shing replied about 20 seconds later 'shah got him on a homer.' Everything I've witnessed just proves to me that when the numbers get high, it's plain stupid. And even a little help makes a big difference. People should not have to take raids against more than 4 people alone. It's simple. You only "beast" it if you keep landing on pre-radar'd fuel. If you have to land, take all the homings, radar, move to fuel....the pre-tele 1/3 of the pack is already on ur ass and the rest catch up before you can get out of there. With help, the raiders occasionally have to ease off to get fuel themselves and you can use your team-mates radar to stay alive. If you guys really wanna have fun it's high time you let the raided prep a little and for any raiding party of 5+ he should really have at least one team-mate. That's how I feel about it. I hate it when orange mobs even more than any other color. Even though I'm totally protected they chase everyone out of the map or kill them down to lieut.

That being said, the map is fun and super juicy when there are large numbers that are relatively even. There were multiple raids going on at one point and I still found smaller side battles, as well as some nice 1v1 with ShingRa. We unlocked the water and faked an extended set in it, attracted a lot of attention. 6 players must have emptied duals on us while we drained the water of its oil spill.

I appreciate the sentiment. I was doing alright until I made one dumb move when I didn't think Arsenic planted mines. I'm pretty sure every orange thought wtf? Usually I die because of a dumb move like that. 8 man raids are tough. I've lived without a raid taking partner for a long time after Jets disbanded and it was rare people came at me with anything less. I don't complain about it really, I just take it on the chin and get after it the next time.

I'm beginning to think pre radared fuel is overrated when WiKiDs are raiding. For some reason I can only see two of them in my screen in the beginning of the raid. I tele to a spot where I know I just radared because I filled there, and everything is fake or mined purple. Conveniently now there are duals coming at me from every direction and there is no fuel. I'm not knocking this method, I'm just having a tough time combatting it. I've never seen a team do it so much.

Re: 5/31 Desert

thats why an ally makes such a difference. In castles on team AZNS, we would always enter the map and like as we chat and wait for everyone to join up etc, just radar around covering stuff. Pre-radar'd fuel has been hurting since they are covering trails. But when you have an ally and you map, you see him a screen or two over with fuels near-by, you know they were JUST radar'd by ur color, and heck, he might have even shot the mines off them for you. Idk if it's just the increase in shot damage, but it really hurts far too much when a mob is on you. I admire your attitude of taking all comers, but it's not something I truly share in common with you. If i'm gonna die, I want to die in a nice extended battle involving team-mates, not just enemies. I don't like being chased by 6-9 people where ur best bet is to return fire like 20 times and die a meaningless, unfair death.

And yea when I entered you were doing okay. But that was because the area has a lot of rocks and you were literally teleporting from fuel to fuel. Missles and homers were hurting so bad you were still staying in dark shades. It was retarded and I felt like an ass for even firing at you.

Another point about a team-mate is; occasionally he throws them off your trail. A couple of people might fire a few shots too before realizing its the wrong guy or teleport to the wrong dot in a rush. All in all, having even just one ally can turn a totally unfair raid into something that could at least be manageable.

I shot off probably 40+. I would agree I'd rather fight for ten minutes and go down in a blaze of glory. I usually do that regardless of how many are on me though. I only have select times now to play so I take whatever conditions I can get. Partner takes are fun as hell, I love being the helper. My goal is to not let the guy die when it's 8-2.

honestly, there was alot of fuel radared for me last night, but, it seemed i would telley to full fuel and by the time the homers hit me id be half, shoot a couple times, burn 30 shields in 1 teleport is fun.. I think i did almost half assed in the first raid. Should have died quick but i got lucky with some lucky jumps..anyway..hope this activity increases!!!

Like 35 of those musta been before I joined the pack. Just sayin. I came at the point where you were floundering. Partner takes are way better. I envision situations where like, say 6 purples raid an orange, the orange has a helper near-by and 4 helpers far off, using the radar and covering fuels. The raided dude leads the pack towards the 'orange' area. Then the oranges jump in and pick a purple target. Now who's ya daddy? Stuff like that just seems infinitely more fun than going 7v1, everyone chase that dude, and there is no risk or opposition for the raiders. BOOOOORRRINNNGGGG

Extremely valid point and I agree it would be a lot of fun if you can organize it. I normally don't have that luxury due to time constraints. Half hour over lunch, half hour after work. The occasional 8 hour beast session. Our team seems to be all overt the place regarding times lately. Hopefully we coincide times and have 40 people in the map at once.

Edit, yeah most of them were before it was 8-1.

Didn't read all the posts I just wanted to reply to lefty. The whole point is it IS survivable. I have survived quite a few huge mobs. It's fun and 1 mistake or usually lag or freeze in my case and you are done for. I love it no matter how many tanks they can raid my leuit over and over lol

So what, you survived a couple huge mobs when you were on a modded client? Don't feed me any bullshit dude I've seen a bunch of your takes. Some have been decent, most of them you die pretty quick, and I've yet to see you survive a raid. Don't go saying mob raids are survivable without assistance. It's the dumbest fucking thing anyone could ever pretend is true in this game.

Also, I took the orange mob yesterday on my purple captain. I barely even had a chance to fight back. Lack of shields and the smaller fuel bar make fighting back against a mob nearly impossible. You just scramble even more and shoot even less. Raids on ur lieut? What a waste of fucking time. Whenever you guys finish doing all this retarded shit and wanna make the game interesting, I'll still be gathering points on lefty. Teams are practically the biggest problem. I know all you gays love having matching names etc. The 4 colors already divide us into teams and I'm probably one of only a few who wish people would just leave it at that. When the map starts filling up, it gets fun, then a team comes in and that color starts to ruin everything. How often have I seen two teams in at the same time....uhhh NEVER. Always a team comes in, then if more players start flooding, they are matching the team color to join the mob. Every time. As sean would say, I'm sick of dealing with fucking peasants.

what's his name survived a 6 or 7 on 1 the other night in maze, he played that well maze can be fun to take raids because of the surrounding elements.

Also i thought hype had an awesome take against the orange mob last night as a colonel. I didnt see anyone take that long the whole time i was in, no one was finding him fuel either from what i recall. Honestly it seems like so many people are improving in thks game lately.

Lol now lefty im curious how many equals a mob id say 7 or more but i dont know. Maybe its 9 or more. 7 is high but its not to intimidating.

every time I see someone do well, it pretty much comes down to this, they run a lot. They may keep the teleports small so you can keep up slightly easier, but its about teleporting a fuck ton and hiding behind rocks/obstacles. It doesn't even really help that much because they are hardly shooting back and still end up dead.

I also took a mob in maze and they couldnt touch me for shit. I just took them to the outer ring and at most 2 duals can hit you. And in some places only 1. They gave up after I emptied twice. what's his name lived though? I'd have to be there to believe it.

Nameless, no one did well last night in the middle of that mob...I honestly don't remember anyone last more than 5-6 screens. With 8 people on you one mistake means all of your shields. Honestly, the take of the night might go to kevin, he took well just didn't shoot as much as some, but definitely lasted the most screens.

7 is high but its not to intimidating.

honestly he sat in the wettest part of the map and shot back every 3rd screen, was not impressed. maybe if he was lieutenant or captain that would have been a bit more understandable, but alas it was a lot of people..

the wikid with the silver cup was the most consistent and impressive taker imo

Its a mob he was probably trying to stick to the outside of it to get more shots off, that's a good idea in my opinion. Plus wouldn't you try to take in the wettest part of the map when the mob is on you.

Anyway, not trying to start a pissing match or a feud I just wasn't in early enough for the wikids.

I still want to know how many is a mob?

I consider it a mob when mathematically you can no longer return fire without using armors. (assuming they all have dual shot line of fire)

What was is...36 singles for a general. 18 Duals. 2v1 9 rounds, 3v1 6 rounds, 4v1 4-5 rounds, 5v1 3-4 rounds, 6v1 3 rounds.

At 6v1(even 5v1 rly) you cannot return fire without using armor shields if they all have dual shot line of fire. Meaning 7+ is basically out of control and more or less pointless.
Even at 4v1 you can shoot back once, if you shoot back a second time and all four have dual shot line of fire, you will burn armor shields.

There is a reason I don't really like raids and this ^ is why. I like to empty as fast as possible. 3v1 you can safely shoot back 3 times and if anyone moved or radar etc u can safely add a 4th shot. 2v1 you can return fire 6 times and 7 if they made a move yadda yadda.
1v1 ftw, safely return fire 15 times....the only thing that makes me happier is 1v0 when the 0 is everyone in the map is ignoring me and raiding someone else. I just follow the pack unloading duals without getting shot back at all

although usually there is some cunt like starfox who does that sort of thing targeting only me

They drive me nuts with their raiding. You'll get started, go a few screens, and half of them disappear for 2 minutes at a time, leaving you fighting 2v1 or 3v1. Then you teleport, shoot the only guys on target once or twice and get pelted with duals from Wikids scoping you from outside your screen.

So your choices are either to take as though you're getting hit by 5 the entire time (and pretele in the process) or risk burning all of your shields when the rest of the raid decides it wants to wander back your way.

I will go with the latter and act as if it's 5-1 from now on. Usually you have to, your shields will burn up in one screen if you don't. I'm used to mapping and seeing a glob of color pixels following me. It's funny when you can take an SS with 10 homers hitting you.

The necessary counter-measures would be considered cowardly or whatever. The only way to deal with this is to marathon when you realize some of them are near-by blocking off the fuel. Their tactic won't work if you lead them to a new area, then you do a massive jump back towards their freshly mined fuel and break it open while they make their way back to you. That's the sort of thing I would do, personally, because I enjoy staying alive and shoving dirty tactics back in peoples faces with my own. :eating:
