i think theres still a fair amount of land, didnt think there would be as much water. but yeah the idea was to create a des "water" map kind of like iceland. its hard to tell what would translate from 256x256 pixels to in game so what i thought i had would be all snipeable water isnt in some areas.
Its going to be a challenging map to play none the less.

All the land is on the sides of the map all water in the middle. The direction taking raids is easy to guess... I don't like it. I didn't like levels at first but then when I got in and played it I liked it. Id say a better maze.

Agreed levels is a better maze. Zooming out might cross yhe hell out of your eyes but its fun none the less havnt played badlands yet. I know when i saw the map in the gif the lake looked huge. Has anyone tried jumping it yet?

The thing is that my selling point for the levels map was that it would take a longer time to adjust and it's something you'd have to play for a while to master where you are on the map unlike the other maps. so i guess mission accomplished. but most places you can drive to. nothing gets trapped. if you're good at mining and steal fuels when raiding you have big advantage. also plenty of fuel to take raids and resources are spread out evenly. it doesnt get packed up in one area. anyways, ive been defending and selling Levels a lot for a day (cus it's my map, can you blame me?
). but i'll just let you guys play it for (when it's up again). i must say though, most people who played it for more than an hour like the map.
anyways, back on topic badlands. havent been too bad.

I heard there are areas totally in-cased with rock. That means the only way to break it is to switch to the color and drop obbys on mines then switch back and infiltrate if possible. It's whack to have totally enclosed areas though...

you're right, there are no obstacles in these areas. I highlighted them and sent them to tp

may have mishighlighted a couple of them

Lol I made sure there wasn't a single area on my map that was inclosed like that but In everyone else defense I only made one map and I spent probably 5 or 6 hours on it making 5 or 6 revisions. I dont think I will like bad lands but I am still excited to try it out.

Sorry, don't really like it. Any water based map I don't like tbh. Lands dry and I hate being stuck on a ferry, let alone trying to find one half the time.

Yeah fuck that map.. nothing against the creator.. but seriously fuck that. All the fuel is in the water & I'm stranded on a damn island because there's no reachable fuel. I can't even say "Come get me" because apparently that cost fuel? ...

im gonna see what i can do about making it a little more feasible to play but not too much. maybe connect like a strip of land through the middle of the water so theres a way to drive across the map. fix the enclosed areas. things i wont fix though would be the small islands and the rock islands, i always liked the idea of rocks being in the water, you tele to the wrong island and youre fucked.
The map was intended to be strategic and hard to play. Everyone wants their cake but no one wants to earn it. It just seems a lot of hate is stemming from the fact that everyone wants a land map that you can tele anywhere and there will be fuel 90% of the time. If you can take a serious raid in this map which has the same feel as ice or apps even then youre doing something right. The games hard enough as it is, i know, but why not an extra challenge? I feel this is why they chose this map for play.
Ill admit land got dry as fuck but its no different than the other water maps when the fuel is sucked up on land. especially if there was a bunch of people in. take advantage of that at least and everyone hop on a ferry and clean house at least. youre not obligated to stay on land at all times, if everyones complaining about dry land, get the fuck in the water and take advantage of pphing with the masses at least. Everyones so damn negative lol.
One last thing to add, the point of new maps is the word NEW, youre not supposed to have these maps figured out immediately when you go to map. Hearing that as an excuse to hate a new map is kinda lame imo.
Inb4 calling me butthurt, but damn y'all is crying too much on this shit haha.

I guess it's just the fact that some people come from deep six and or icelands and these kind of maps aren't too much of a hastle. Others, such as myself come from maps with little to no water like crazy maze, desert, etc. Everybody has a preference and that's why when playbattlefield.com was around it was nice because you could pick which map you liked the most to play on, so us water haters obviously didn't play water maps, and now we're forced to. That would be my logical reasoning since that is sort of how I feel.

no doubt, its funny to me cause i only played des, rocks and maze back in battlefield days. but most of my designed maps i sent in had a decent amount of water. I like a land map as much as the next and is usually preferred by me, but i like the rotation of maps that you can easily die 1vs1 and cause a new strategy to be formed.

It's no different than apps or castles - you are 10x better off stashing a couple of ferries and memorizing where they are. The land gets really dry in areas - ask green lantern. No one was even attacking him. I think he was filling or looking for a ferry to fill. Got stuck insuff 1v0. I saw him floundering and used over half fuel blasting through his armor shields and deactivating his colonel. Badlands is bad. I rate it below the 6 old maps but above deep six. Nothing personal nachos, please don't be offended. Heck, my map wasn't chosen at all and I didn't get a purple heart. You have another map too right?

Its a different level of playing. Land is hard, but the water is super easy. Hard not to use both when the map is divided like that.

Not my personal favorite since using ferries will be a must.

Yessir. Lately, I have been thinking about my old philosphy about using ferries. Although I still don't like ferry hugging, maps like this made me reconsider my thoughts about staying off ferries unless I die and need to fill.

I don't mind the map, reminds me of Iceland and for me that's a good thing :)
Anyone else experiencing the occasional lag though? Its so bad for me that I have to leave and relaunch the browser at times.

When my tank moves on the screen you can see it stutter. I never had this issue before the new maps.

After playing it for a couple hours I found it very similar to Iceland.

It's not as bad as I thought at first. After a few hours it grew on me some and it's sorta fun. My opinion changed from like 5/10 to maybe 7/10
