Raid Take 5/14/12
That had to be the strangest take ever. Computers would lag me, then it would seem like everyone would pop up and I'd be dead low and have to scramble. Half the time it would be 7-1, then 4-3. I wasn't sure when to tele and when to stay and fight. The whole way across the bottom I couldn't shoot back either because there was 1 500 fuel every other screen. It was fun though, regardless of the oddity and disorganization. I felt I should have survived it but hey, can't beat 'em all. :) Next time.

It was definitely a cluster-fuck -- was very odd, like you said. Half the time the blues would be shooting you, then the other half they'd be trying to raid one of the WiKiDs. I don't understand why they couldn't wait to raid one of us until after we were finished raiding you. Not to mention that screen with 2 red bots that had everyone lagging to shit. Great take for what it was.

Thanks, they will get better than that. I need more practice.

Thanks, jaybird. My favorite part was the one time I teleported right next to a blue lieutenant with half shield level fuel and 15 shields left. I land, homer hits, radar, he shoots me, homer, homer, radar registers, I click to move, he shoots me again, another homer and then his homer hits me on the screen and then another homer hit me. I wish I'd have taken a screenshot of it, haha. Either I was moving ridiculously fast or they were lagging like crazy. Must have been red-2 long moving everyone just as I teleported. I can't see any other way those specific turns happen in rapid succession as I don't believe I was being sniped.

Those bots are out of control. Last night in a 4v1 I had 2 red bots longmoving me back and forth in the top corners of my screen. I dont think they were even in any of the raiders screens. I raged a little after burning over half of my armors when I hit map with 3/4 fuel in anticipation of what was to come.

When taking a raid I know people like to spam bring it! and who's your daddy! etc... but keep Buzz Off! highlighted then when you see bots spam that they tele away. Rather than sit there in a lag infested screen for 30seconds and shooting twice lol
Out of the way works also but they drive using that one so buzz off works best.

You just mad because I have time to light up a smoke why I wait for you to land, then still get half way down my smoke while I spam is that the best you can do? Then casually drive to fuel.

It does suck when red-2 destroys your shields with a long move. I usually use the quit and come back method to combat red-2's lameness.
Sometimes there is just nothing you can do. I.e. yesterday my first take was rough. I couldn't find much for fuel and when I did it was either mined or leChiffre was fast enough to steal it. Second take I did much better even though two of you stalked me while I filled then tried mining my fuel before I even started fighting back. I liked that tactic, it makes 4 or 5-1 a 6-1. Very difficult to take. Good fight blues and Wikid, good fight.

I can't stand when they cover fuels. It makes it hard to take I guess, or you just have to scramble more. They do this to me, then expect me to still fire back and get dead low on every screen. The fuel bar doesn't last long AT ALL in a raid situation. It also really annoys me when 4 ppl land next to you, then all drive to fuels and you shoot the ground 3 times, then suddenly they all fire on you and the rest of the mob has caught up. When you're heavily outnumbered, gradually, map control is being lost. While filling or chasing they are mining most of the available fuel. It reaches a point where you have to clear mines to get a fuel or keep looking for one they haven't covered yet....I've been in raiding parties, not on tankpit but in battlefield. If you take the time to spread out and cover a large area of fuels with mines, and then once you start raiding, if a player enters that zone...it's over. He keeps porting and being displaced to the edge of the mines. Then the raiders tp and hit all the protected fuels of course. Battles are much more interesting than raids imo. Map control doesn't get turned over to one color. Instead of 5v1 you get a 5v5 going. Basically you get two raids simultaneously and a lot more variables present for unexpected things to happen. AZNs vs Safety crew in castles was the most fun I ever had in this game. Ops vs jets but I wasn't there for most of that. I guess I'm sorta alone in not really feeling any glory out of taking 8v1 and dying. I already know the outcome before I take it and don't really care to see how many duals I can get off before I get raped. 3 or 30? Doesn't matter to me.

Doesn't matter because you're over the other side of the map before 3 duels are fired at you.

so ur still gonna complain even after I take ur 5v1...u complain when I don't take, you complain when I marathon, you complain when I take. Since there is no making you happy unless I die apparently...you will be displeased with me for the foreseeable future.

I don't let my name get to a dark enough shade frequently enough. (according to what's his name) Everyone! PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO PLAY! HOW CAN I FAIL AT GETTING FUEL AND DIE IN RAIDS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!? PLEASE LET ME IN ON THE SECRET!!!

My last post was a joke. I thought I pressed '
' but obviously not. My bad.
But since you asked... Get lower is the easy answer. Don't die, but seriously like we spoke about. I don't care how you play. It's your funeral. I explained on aim that you very rarely get out of first shade and when you do, you will run for a while until you pick up shields. You need to aim to be as low as possible before you land. You tele when your tank can still be hit another 1-2 rounds. The only things you are 'doing wrong' as it seems are:
1) not attempting to go lower than your comfort level what is higher even than most of the new guys.
2) do not run for a few screens to pick up shields, this is annoying.
Honestly like I said over and OVER. Make a new tank for taking raids since you don't want death award and even told me you don't want it. Take them, get as low as possible, practice. I don't see why you would not want to do this? It would get so many people off your back.
Remember dude, I'm cool with you still. We go way back. I am just trying to help. I also advice other people trying to improve to try and get as low as possible and to not run for eq.

Pretty much every raid I've taken so far, I've gone below 20 shields or ran out completely. I didn't run for shields until I ran out of duals also. Considering my comfort level is more fuel than most new players, apparently, I guess it must be a good thing. I keep surviving, and everyone else I see get raided typically dies after a few short screens. That being said, I've gotten lucky several times, and scrambled for fuel/eq with low fuel and no shields multiple times. I don't get it what's his name. You are relentless in saying I need to perform better. But so far I've done quite well. Not taking that first joke raid of serg/guests...had nothing to do with not being able to survive it. It was incredibly annoying and seemed disrespectful. Then the giant mob you formed with 3 colors and every player in the map...well fuck it. There is no obligation to face that sort of abuse. All other raids, I have faced. It has typically been 4 or 5 purples. Occasionally a red raid, or a blue mob. IMO raiding with 6+ unless you are facing a team battle against similar numbers is 10x more cowardly than running from that raid. A 5 man squad is more than effective enough to take down just about anyone. Once there are more than that, it's not even a raiding party. It's just a firing squad for an execution.
I also see absolutely nothing wrong with trying to stay at max fuel. If there is a 600 on screen, and ive taken over 600 damage, I'll make a move for that fuel sooner, rather than later. Take into account how close I've come to death in almost every raid, one false move or missed fuel would have sealed my fate each time.

Honestly, in your head your this god of a player. In reality you're running to soon. People like knock and k12 are getting much lower before they tele. They use sheilds and they can take a 5v1 pretty damn long. In the end they usually die. They had fun owning we had fun raiding. You are taking raids right now lefty, congrats. Just dont claim to be owning when you're not playing even remotly risky. Try not to worry to hard about that death medal, all the great players have one.

I fail to see how going to 0 shields and low fuel several times can be defined as playing without taking any risks. I'm really tired of this discussion. I've said it before, I don't think I'm some god of a player. I consider myself capable. My level of attention to detail in this game is right up there with the best players. A few of the best raid takers in the game take a greater risk by fighting an extra round here or there and not collecting fuel as early. And since I don't do that.....what exactly? I honestly don't get what the issue is. I don't play like knocky, kenny or crusher so I'm playing wrong? You must be the one who thinks I am a godly player. I've stated multiple times that my raid survivals have been pretty fucking lucky so far. I've literally been one shot from death over half a dozen times with 4+ players on my tail.

Lefty, why do you continue to argue? Everyone agrees you play like shit but yet you still defend your running and bull shit play tactics. You just back them up with, I got skill or I pay attention. Honestly, man anyone can run and live in this game. I can play like you all day and take 10+ on. I choose to challenge myself (and so do other players) and get low or try to find that fine line of play deadly play. This game is all about living and dieing. You only live because you play like a BITCH! Get it right man if everyone played like you, you wouldn't have the
. I am done with you, you clearly don't understand or respect what fun is and you take this game more serious than me or anyone else on this board. And don't say you don't take the game serious because its very obvious from you continued LONG ASS POSTS, and your continued lack of dieing. My point with knock and k12, are they are great players and yet they both have death medals. Surviving doesn't require skill, pushing yourself to last a long time in a 4-5v1 and eventually dieing/or coming close to death. That takes skill. Its all about riding the edge and making this game fun for me and for you. You don't ride the edge and until recently I am pretty sure you didn't even get close enough to see the edge unless you teleported too fast and too far while marathoner. lefty
, You fear what every great player has already received. It doesn't make you greater than them to live without it. Maybe tankpit should just do away with the damn death medal you and liquified can be the sole cause.

Are you happy I finally got mauled by the blue mob? It was 6v1 then 7v1 when POWER decided to join in toward the end. I had been fill fighting with no armor or dual for a while then called a brb. Most of them backed off and I filled. I took it again against 5. I lagged and burned 40 armors at almost the very beginning. Then I made some awful tps, I kept running into areas just covered with blue mines. Finally I mis-clicked a teleport onto fuel with 0 armor and no fuel, kuma arrived quick on the scene and took me out before I could move again. I still had 24 dual shots left that time. They wanted to come at me again but I've had enough for the moment. There is a difference between fearing death or playing like a total bitch to avoid it, and playing as I do. I try my hardest to survive, and ur damn right that means running harder when I'm outta shields and low on fuel. Kills on me are earned and earned well.
Also, you are full of shit. You can't take on a 5v1 like I do. Don't get all retarded on me suggesting you can beast a 10v1 etc.

The blue mob owned me yesterday from colonel to sarg. I was taking anythjng from 7v1 to 4v1 against them. You might out take me 5,4v1. What i ment was i could run all day when and survive a 10v1.
Dont you worry im going to get real good at this game, if you want ill take you under my wing. :p

Out of control you two. Almost every take is situational and there are very few players who can consistently fight their balls off in one area of the map against any amount of opponents. I would rather take raids from 12 DonCorleon's than 4 leChiffre's. There are several factors that you have to consider when rating a take in my opinion. These would be as follows:
Prep time
Ratio of fuel to path traveled or total area of the map covered
# of raiders
# of shots target fires
Time it takes to shoot # of shots fired
Skill of people raiding
I think I'll come up with some kind of equation so we can put hard evidence to people's skill level. If I missed anything, feel free to share your thoughts. This shouldn't take me long once we cover all the variables.

El, you would have been proud earlier today. I took 6v1 like a champ. Then POWER joined them and nearly finished me off. I kept going for a bit then I figured 8-0-60-60-12 was a good point to go fill. I refilled and my second take wasn't nearly as impressive. POWER had already been killed by the raiders and was gone, as was reddady, who could hardly keep up in all honesty, but extra shots still hurt when he was on screen. I made a major mistake in heading through the center which was completely overrun with blue mines and dry. I had also burned over 1/2 my shields on one of the first screens. I'm not sure what happened. I think there was a long move in the top left corner of my screen with most of them to the bottom right. The result was several rounds pounding me before I could port out. I figured I'd have to try and empty anyway. I got down to 24 duals and made a mis-click teleport. I was totally out of shields and missing the fuel finished it. KuMa got the kill. Later on I would have a measure of vengeance as he made a mistake and fell in a 2v1 lmao. I took a break for a while, I was fried after missing that port. Then I came back in and took a couple more 3v1, 4v1. Le cheriffe came in, and I left. I had to go work on the kitchen and do some gardening. I was pretty fucking pumped and wanted to take it with him involved. Soon... I still want to avoid death medals as much as possible, but that was a very fun afternoon. Action packed, blues running rampant for over 4 hrs by the time I left.
I know I sorta repeated my story from earlier a bit, but the detail is for the dawwgg
and yea. Prep time is massive. I switched to blue for a bit in-between my takes to watch other people take it. Their map was very, very different than the orange version. At that point orange was basically running blind, while blue had everything scanned and covered with mines.

Nice job, keep taking raids until the heel of your palm develops a callous. I was taking and avg of 1 to 1.5 raids per hour for every hour I played which was roughly 4500 hours. Ive pretty much seen it all. Tips, going in blind is suicide, you won't survive a 5-1 if there is no one else your color in so try to get some idea where fuel is before you go all kamikaze like I did the other day. Prep time is huge. If you have 30 seconds you should be able to get a few screens radared to at least get a good start. If all you find are mines then chances are you're in a bad way.
Anyone think of any other factors I didn't include in my previous post? I'm going to work on an equation later today.

yea, going blind didn't work at all. I only had about 6 screens scanned bottom right on my next take. I burned through them very quick, mostly while they took the time to mine it all up. Then what.. I made a few jumps and got owned. Also got caught in a melee with my pants down. Suddenly a 1v1 became 7v1 and I was insufficient. I drove 2 screens and found nothing, wound up dead. Blue was too much yesterday. From about 1 in the afternoon when hyperion, kuma, missing opp, ruffian and a couple others started playing...they were still there at 3am, having only left the map when zub raided with utankers(as far as I could tell). Which seems exactly like what you guys were on my case about, being hypocrites(even though I'm nothing like that). Raided all day and left the one time there was actual competition. In any case raids are pretty fun. But there is definitely an element of futility. And it definitely wore me down constantly having to fight off 4-9 players almost every time I entered the map yesterday. You can't last against such stacked odds, my takes gradually got worse and I started dying mostly through fatigue and a total lack of preparation. Wardog came in late last night and took on 5 or 6 of them from colonel. He went down to lieut, took a fk for captain, died again, took another fk, died again. I saw him later as a major, not sure how. Guess what I'm saying if an old pro can't face it for shit without decent prep time, it pretty much makes my case. Raids are fucking retarded, and impossible to fight off over time unless you get help. Mobbing imo ruins the game as it runs a lot of players out of the map and leaves a group in that's obviously organized. They would all fill at the same time so you could never 1v1 or 1v2 then need to fill after the other raiders were ready. Basically what I'm trying to say is after seeing a lot of action the last couple days I'm convinced raiding is fucking retarded and pointless. Battles are far more fun, and playing for pph still makes way more sense to me. I'm not sure why this mob culture is so prevalent. Come face impossible odds and die! Or your a faggot! Right, how about even up the teams and see what happens? Bunch of pussies imo.

If you don't like being raided then don't enter the map. Its not supposed to be about gathering points. Its a rank up or down game. You are clearly no where skilled enough to take a raid that why you die as soon as your preradared supply of fuel runs out.

PRIDE

whatever dude. Go ahead be a dick. It's a game, you can rank up or down as you choose. Build bases, go for points, play rock block, do whatever the fuck you want. I have plenty of skill. It's simply not possible to keep it up hour after hour being heavily outnumbered. I said it once and I'll say it again. It's fucking easy to be one of the raiders. A LOT of players only play when they mob, they don't have a "main" and don't play alone, ever. I'm saying fuck everyone who is too pussy to scrap it out with more even odds. Maybe you don't even know what it's like to be on the receiving end? I pretty much only ever see you play during red mob situations. Go fuck yourself. Also, they would have killed you just as easily. No one got away except players who decided not to face it at all.
