I think it's pretty weak there's only like 5 countries involved. Canada, US, Norway, Sweden and Germany are the only countries that seem to care. The summer Olympics are a lot more competitive since you don't need ice and snow to run, jump, or wrestle.

Gayest fucking overtime I've ever watched. Of ALL people to end it, it just HAD to be fucking Cindy Crosby.

I'm mad and I don't mind admitting it. Fuck him. I threw things for about a week after game 7 last year, and having HIM get the game winner this year makes me want to puke.

I hope he contracts Ebola.

Hey look at the bright side, the silver matches your uniforms. Honestly Crosby was basically hated by most of Canada, until that goal. Now he's a fucking legend. He's still a douche, but he has my respect now. Hahahaha cry some more America, no one touches Canada in hockey.

luckily we don't care about hockey. We only wanted to win to steal gold from Canada.

but congrats on beating us with an all-star team at home, in your national sport, in overtime, on the second try. You must be SO proud

its the only thing canada is known for, so you damn well better have won :wtfmate: . no one even gave the US a chance to medal beforehand, and everyone believed anything less than gold for canada was failure.

and hockey is your national sport, genius :bowrofl:

Some sports are de facto national sports, as baseball is in the U.S., while others are de jure as lacrosse and hockey are in Canada.

Lacrosse was the National Sport of Canada up until 1994.
Today our National Sport is Hockey.

OH AND WHAT ABOUT THIS GEM

THE NATIONAL SPORTS OF CANADA ACT -N-16.7, An act that recognized lacrosse and ice hockey as the national sports of Canada.

but I wouldn't expect Canadians to know what their own fucking national sport is

Lacrosse is regarded as our national sport. Sure hockey is our favourite, but it isn't our national, though most people think it is.

did you read my post? Hockey IS the national sport according to the "National Sports of Canada Act"

it doesn't get much more official than a pronouncement from the government...

Can't always bank on wikipedia for accuracy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport_in_Canada

"Ice hockey, referred to as simply hockey in the country, is Canada's most prevalent winter sport,[1] its most popular spectator sport, and its most successful sport in international competition. Lacrosse, a sport with Native American origins, is Canada's oldest and official sport."

And holy fuck why do people still post here.

I did NOT get my info from wikipedia, that was simply another voice of confirmation.

YOUR GOVERNMENT says hockey is the national sport.

Quote:
In 1994, Bill C-212 was introduced to officially declare hockey as Canada's national sport. Opposition came from supporters of lacrosse who wanted to recognize the traditional and cultural significance of this sport. Consequently, Bill C-212 was amended to recognize both sports. Thus, on May 12, 1994, Canada's National Sport Act (Bill C-212) became law, reading: "To recognize hockey as Canada's National Winter Sport and lacrosse as Canada's National Summer Sport".
